Hi,

I am curious about a small magnifier lens (that's what it looks like from far) people fit in their rear window (I have seen a few scorpios, and maybe incidentally only scorpios). What good it is for ... do they give a better visibility when backing up? Any idea of cost & availability? It may look bad, but if it improves reversing experience, I'd like to fit one in my innova. Again, I have seen one that had bubbles/almost peeling off, so would like to know if that is a common case (it'll last only 6 months).

Kousik

Hi Kousik

The small convex mirrors are great to increase area of coverage, and eliminate blindspots. I used a pair on my Accord, and it was a boon on the american freeways.

hi koushik
its a wonderfull idea, as i have a indica, i purchased one from ebay for around 150/-. But the glue thing isnt good enough to hold to the rear glass. It fell off many a times. I even tried with fevi-quick, it wont stick.
Can anyone give me some idea, to stick it.

the only thing i can think of is celotape. but if you have sunfilm of your windscreen wont it mess it up?

He didn't say rear view mirror but windscreen.

Why can't someone put film on windscreen? Be it front or rear. Whole idea is to cut the heat. Isn't it?

Please correct me if iam wrong, but i remember seeing this thing on Ambassador's and Fiat's apart from other car's way back when i was a kid!

Is it the same Square opaque looking thing we are talking about?

Does it help improve the visibility of the hidden areas at the back ??.

I have seen that many people use it but need feedback from someone using it, Pro's & Cons please.

We tried it in our innova, but sadly the so said lens fell apart inside usually. I suppose it costed somewhere around 300-400 rs. Though once installed, i didn't found it so much useful while reversing.

Better option - To have a reverse camera. Serves the purpose very efficiently.

Its a convex lens and needs to be put on the outside and not inside.

No doubt, it wont make any difference as per your installation.

Is this lens stuck to the rear glass?

Installation was done properly i.e. as per installation guide provided in the box. However major problem was things behind seems to be too much convexed towards center point, which otherwise creates confusion while reversing in rush.

Later (since it was avoided) it was permanently removed due to hindrance in rear view.

Hi dadu,

I have used it before. It has to be put inside and not outside. I never had the problem of it coming off. The problem is that it changes from transparent to yellow in about an year's time.

It definitely improves the rear vision to an extent.
