Changing Engine in a Car - A question?

Hi Guys,

Read lot of E-Zen and Engine swap (change) on this forum, but I always had once question in my mind, when some body changes the engine do they buy new one? Is it possible to buy new engine ( only engine ) if yes how much it will cost ? say engine of zen and engine of Esteem ?

Regards,
Jitendra

Generally only old engines are sourced and rebuilt. Buying new engines could be very expensive proposition and may not be worth it. I can tell you with experience that you tend to 'grow out' of ezen after running it for a while

nicejits, one possible way is to ring up MASS and ask if a new engine is available for sale.
Usually people use an engine that has been taken off from a car due to insurance write-offs or similar reasons.

you cant buy a whole engine like a crate engine with every thing attached brand new but you would have to buy parts and assemble it which again would be very expensive like a baleno engine brand new comes to around 4l odd.

hi.. u can guy zen or esteem second hand engine from mayapuri delhi in just 10-15,000. these engines are in good condition. mostly there no need to rebuild petrol engine. and these engines r taken from accidented vehicles. u can also try ur local mechanic shops.
