Front Seat Change in Tata Safari Dicor 3.0

Hi,

I am planning to change the front seats as I want more thigh support. I called up Koyas Coimbatore and they have said they will change the whole frame for 14k and will be done in 1 day.

Is there any problem in changing the frame of the front seats and making it big?
IS there any other way i can get more thigh support in TATA SAFARI 3.0

Please help me

I am really finding it difficult driving with those seats, that too when i am on long drives. I do drive long very often, i have done 27k kms within the last 10 months on my safari.

On very long drives, the under thigh support falls just slight short depending on the way one sits. One's height and leg length also plays a part here. I find sitting with my thighs along with outer edges of the seat comfortable. Also, let your left leg rest on the floor as close to the pedals as possible. The dead pedal is sorely missed here on long drives.

Having done 34000 km in 17 months, I feel your pain, at times.

Hi Ramkumar,

Have you given a shot at Recaro / Sparco seats.

Though they seem to have the racing pattern, they have variants that provide ample lumbar / under-thigh support and very good lower back support as well.

In case your looking at an alternative, please do try these as well.

Keep us posted on your discovery please.

Ram,
Is your Safari 3.0 an EX or LX?
The EX and VX have a driver's seat height adjuster.
Most people swear by the Safari's seat comfort.Maybe you could drive an EX and figure out whether you are more comfortable in it.

Visit upna mumbai's chor Bazzar... You'll gey Landcruiser seating for 5000 a pair. But you'd have to look.
We just bought 2 honda accord seats for a medium sized car for 4000/-.

Dont try recaro and all unless 100% authentic. Otherwise your back might go for a toss.

Remember to check any mod you do with its effect on room in the back seat area.

I want to change the front seats of my getz as I am 6'2" tall and the under thigh support is not good.

Please give me the options available.

How about getting a tinker to weld a 2" sheet in front of the frame, and adding 3" of foam to the seat and reupholsterin?

Thigh support is indeed somewhat lacking in the Safari if you have long legs. However the rest of the comfort makes up for it.
Rather than changing seats I would suggest getting some attachment fitted for under thigh support.

You can also try some DIY like inserting Foam in the front part of the seat.

This is the best option friend.

But I am not finding places in Bangalore to do the same. There are many options for leather seats, but not for this kind of job. If you can refer someone in Bangalore, I would be grateful.

Have you tried the LC or Lexus seats? Try them first.

The car is Getz.

I posted in this thread as I could not find a similar thread. Sorry for the confusion.
