Have you actually tried buying or selling an esteem diesel ?
Don't go by quoted prices
Gurus...Wouldn't the clutch be different in Diesel version too? Then I guess convertiong to Petrol engine should be okay with that
262K Kms ... thats too high .. Rather sell it off n buy a used petrol esteem

Am not sure of that GTO. Esteem diesel is hard to find but hard to sell as well. It sells a little cheaper than the petrol.... |
agree:
Generally diesel engined versions of the same car will have a higher resale value : but this is not true in the case of Maruti (at least prior to the CRD/MultiJet-engined Swift). Maruti's earlier venture with diesels was not too good, and Maruti Zen D and Esteem D have a poor reputation (so , resale value would be less for the diesel).
So the general consensus by the gurus is against an engine transplant right ?

I do not think so. Zen D is valued higher than the similar model Zen Petrol. May because of its excellent mileage. Atleast in interior regions in TN.
