Esteem diesel has low resale value

Generally diesel engined versions of the same car will have a higher resale value : but this is not true in the case of Maruti (at least prior to the CRD/MultiJet-engined Swift). Maruti's earlier venture with diesels was not too good, and Maruti Zen D and Esteem D have a poor reputation (so , resale value would be less for the diesel).

I do not think so. Zen D is valued higher than the similar model Zen Petrol. May because of its excellent mileage. Atleast in interior regions in TN.
