Re: Headers for my Swift.

Congrats on your mods.

Could you tell me if there was any significant drop in FE or any other side effects you saw after this headers was done. If so was it due to the quality of the job done at Shabbir's?

Any input would help as I am considering this mod soon.

Cheers.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

Go ahead and get it done at Shabbir's.

The brain behind it is Raj Hingorani and he's very good.

I had just been there yesterday since my Wagon R's FFE was making more noise than usual. The mods was done in April 2007.
Raj was there at the garage yesterday.

The muffler was rusted and had to be replaced. It had a nice note. This was replaced with a ready muffler which was slightly longer and hence the note is slightly lesser now.

It took about an hour to fix the new one.

Haven't had another other side effects since fitting the FFE in April 2007.
Fuel Efficiency depends on how you drive. With the increased power and the note from the exhaust, people tend to open up and hence the mileage drops.

If you are careful and drive as usual (you will find it very difficult to do so), your mileage will be better than earlier.

Regards
Ravi.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

My swift is a 2006 1.3 .

Raj has gone abroad or that is what his friend told me. Now his disciple 'Shabbir' is running the show. He charges 9000k for a full set including the FFE 4-2-1 manifold.

But I hear there is a Keshav/Pscyho(handle) in blore who also does this work. Was recommended by a fellow bhpian who has got it done from both Shabbir and Keshav. He prefers Keshav over Shabbir and I think I will speak to both of them.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

Congrats nice job done. I also love the work quality. What my experience say that header should me made according to cylinder firing sequence like all four cylinder cars have firing sequence 1-3-2-4. So in header you combine the pipe of cylinder 1 and 3 and exactly with 2 and 4 which gives you a bigger boost. Plus gain a little bit pipe size diameter but not more then 0.5 inch. As 0.5 inch increase is good for bigger engine above 2000cc and increase of 0.25 inch for cars below 2000cc. For endcan with this type of header you should buy REMUS.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

My gypsy also got a header from Raj Hingorani. It's a great, thorough engineered product providing excellent power delivery with nice humming sound.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

=> Hot my headers done by Leela Sir @RRP considered as Best in India. The power drive package costing 38K

=> Includes headers + BMC DIA Filter + Malpassi Fuel Presure regulator. I am Happy With the result.

=> Its done for Low & Mid range boost and i can definately feel that. The Mufler is kept to just the kind of sound i wanted (Not very loud) its perfect even for City Driving.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

A small query related to the same topic.

Consider this setup on a 1.3 Zxi Swift - 06 with a total of 43k KM in stock condition.

01. Headers with 4-2-1 manifold FFE.
02. K&N Conical Air Filter
03. Iridium Spark Plugs.
04. Exedy Stage 1 Clutch.

Q1. Does all this provide any noticeable gain in torque, power and FE ?
Q2. What is the approximate cost for 02,03 and 04 ? I already have a quote for 01.

Would be really grateful to anyone who could shed some light on my queries above and provide some info on the prices. Please PM me with details, if anyone of you have already got this setup and would like to keep it off this thread wrt the cost aspect.

Cheers.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

Filter along with headers will make the difference.
Filter alone is of no use.

Excedy clutch only if your clutch has worn out, else it does not help in Performance as such.

Go for headers & Filter.

Re: Headers for my Swift.

It was a wise decision to get the headers from Raj, his design and performance is simply superb.......my gypsy is still a head turner after 3 years of running it on header by Raj.
