never seen anything like this jesal. something really wicked!
i have seen it too in a modded white lancer for sale in bandra . but i think the process is too expensive and not worth the moolah
My conti and the esteem that we have modded both have push button start's but of diff types:
1) Conti has a direct push button start after the ignition key is put on.
2) The esteem has 2 remotes (1 security, 2 starter kit) we can unlock the car and start it without even putting in the key.

thats pretty cool
i seen it in a zen once and also a lancer at speed demon workshop
how much do these things cost
parts and installation
hey jesal, even our formula cars have button ignition....! Dunt think it should cost a lot .... let me know incase u wanna get it done.
what is the cost like.i know some one who might be interested in it.
It is becoming increasingly common. However, i'd prefer the traditional key starting mechanism though!

The costs for a push button arent to high if you go the Indian way make sure you have a good Auto Electrician handy:
1) Start Push Button: you could get a 5 AMP button or toggle swith from an electronics dealer.
2) Wiring: Basically the electrician will have to open the steering lock assebly and parellel wire the starter connections to the button. This way no one will be able to start the car without the key.
If you go the remote way it is a bit harder, you would need to rewire extensively for a second remote on your car and also use an solenoid to trigger the starter switch.
and what would be the approximate cost of both the ways and which one is safer and which one is easier to use and which one lasts longer.whioch pne would you recommend??

The relevant costs:
Button Way:
Button: Push type / Toggle 50 -100 Rs.
Wiring: 100 Rs.
Remote way:
Bike remote lock: 1500-2000 rs.
Solenoid: 250 -300
Push Switch- 50 -100
Wiring: 300-500
Personal preference: Button way as it is hassle free and dont have to carry 2 remotes around. Also lesser things that could go wrong.
However the remote way is really neat to show off :)
i care only about the button start in the car. so for 200 bucks i can have that. thats kewl. and methods to this now. will have to search.
