goodness!!

aaah! this will be an extensive one!

Checkout for 1.1 engine that once came in Alto! A 1000cc engine from old Zen wud also fit-in I guess! The mech should be an expert to tweek the stuff in 800's engine bay! Besides, suspension, steering and brake also will require some extensive & brilliant mods!!!
ugh!!

Hi,

I remember Sanjay (formerly from RAC, now with Racedynamics) doing up a 800 with a 1300 esteem engine and another 800 with a Baleno engine. The latter blew the crap outta almost every car in the indian open (It placed 2nd) during the 2005 Blr SR.

If, you are looking for something as radical as that, I would advice you to go and contact him. Although your chances are less as they are not doing such things anymore, however, knowing Sanjay from a long time, he wont mind sharing his thoughts.

Cheers
Shrey

My friend had plonked a Maruti 1000s engine 4 yrs ago. With a works cam, that thing used to fly.
However the more logical thing is to get teh wagonR's 1.1L and do a few works. It will move really well. Moreover its the same F series engine and engine mounting is almost a retro fit. It has a 16v head which can make it a good torquey and peppy street bomb. The power to weight ratio will be shattering for a street car. A well tuned WagonR F series motor can pump well over 70bhp.
Dont forget to upgrade the brakes in any case.

First thing would be to know if he wants the car as a daily drive or a weekend toy?

An Esteem engine would be good, seen a Baleno engine in an 800 too but why swap engine in an 800 ? Are you looking for daily drive purpose or Drags ? buy atleast a Zen to do engine swaps.

Can 800 take such a boost from 1.6 baleno engine? I dont think its Aero dynamics, and its size wont be able to handle that power. It wheel spins for nothing, and its difficult to stop that car once it catches that power. Powerful cars should have powerful breaks though.

For me 800 isnt a bet for engine swap.

As Jay said Zen is a good car for engine swap. Its suspension, and Aero dynamics are far better.

Re: Engine Swaps for M800

I knew one car that had a Diatsu diesel 1.1 engine on it.
Its FE was 25kms on highway and 20 in city. It ran into many problems of over heating, clutch, trans etc so the owner my close friend sold it to a mechanic i guess....
