Car Wax vs Polish

Was confused what the difference is between a Wax and a Polish? I am coming back to bombay from the states in a few weeks so i wanted to pick up some products to enhance the shine of my cars. Specially my car which is black needs to have that extra shine factor to look good. But i am confused if i should buy car wax or car polish? Which one is better? Pros nd Cons? I usually get my cars polished every 5 months from outside professionals but i dont want to get it done now coz the rains r going to start soon which will ruin the polishing effect. Need something that i can maintain the shine even with the mumbai rains.
Was told about this brand called Mothers by a friend as a good polish/wax company....pls check out the link and advice which products r the best to go with...moreover Wax or Polish!

Hi,

Try Meguiars, I feel they have superior products. I use the meguiars Gold class polish .
I Also use the other products like Wax and Interiro detailer from Meguiars.
After Ploishing you need to apply the wax coat to retain and protect the polish from external weather.

Sahil, this may give you some idea. http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-spray-wax.html
You can ignore the name 'Optimum Car Wax'.

Try to get some good soft polishing cloth on your way back. I can buy off the full stock if you wish.

Sahil, all wax and polishing problems should have their topic heading always read like this:

Rudra: Car Polishing issues. Help!
Rudra: Black colour car, how to keep it clean? Help!
Rudra: My car doesn't look clean. What to do? Help!

etcetra etcetra etcetra

A WAX IS A SUBSTANCE WHICH GIVES A SHINE FOR THE PAINT & A POLIST IS ONE WHICH REMOVES THE OXIDATION LAYER OF THE PAINT & ORIGINAL COLOR IS REJUVENATED. USE EAGLE ONE " WET POLISH & WAX" WHICH HAS GIVEN ME RESULTS
