Took a half day off from work this morning to go and look at the progress. Most of the patching work on the car is complete. Will take another day for minor surface soldering tasks. There was indeed a lot of body work that needed to be done. Selected the paint shade this morning. The painter would start the 'surfacing' today evening.

The following items have been sourced:

1. Tail lamp assembly (from an old SS80)
2. Headlamp assembly (same as above)
3. Metal strips that seal the window gaps (the guys call it Harness kit)
4. Channel kit for all windows.

The rubber linings are all good. No signs of aging. The following items need to be sourced:

1. Internal Roof lining (are available locally)
2. Inner door board panels (are available locally) - Am pretty impressed by what Edmund used for his (chequered metal sheets)

Some pics below:

Sorry guys, could not do any updates for the last week. Was too busy at work. Anyways - here are some pics from Friday.

Progress so far:

1. Body work all complete, except for rear right side wheel well (the welder overlooked it)
2. Paint job completed. Matt black on the bumpers and other trims, Murray red on the body, Silver on the rims.
3. Whatever was stripped off, has been reassembled.
4. Bonnet hinges were broken. New ones installed (did this one myself).
5. Petrol tank cover redone, painted and installed.
6. Various rubber strips replaced.
7. Electricals partly checked.

The following things are yet to be done (good that I am posting, so that I will have a reference):

1. Seats to be refurbished. The padding on the driver seat is gone completely.
2. Garness strips to be installed.
3. Roof lining to be redone.
4. Electricals to be checked. Flasher to be replaced (damaged). Some bulbs to be replaced.
5. Left side headlamp reflector to be replaced. (Have found one at a junkyard). We had a trip to the city junkyard yesterday and boy, it was an eyeopener!
6. Petrol tank inner cap to be sourced (someone stole the original when the car was parked at Desouza's garage.
7. Tail-light assemblies to be replaced.
8. Internal door panels to be fixed.
9. Polishing the dash, putting on a steering wheel cover etc.
10. Boot glass lock to be fixed.
11. Rear number plate to be fixed.

Other than that, the car rocks! Drove it around a few roads and people were drooling over it

Hey, that looks good. Make sure the re-done tinkered parts wont rust any further. That would be the most annoying part at a later date, when the corrosion starts to show up. I have been into restoring one of my closest friend's SS80 from quite a period from now. Well I am working on it with my personal interest & efforts. I know it would be a tough time to maintain without any such undesirable results.

Wish you best of luck & great drive ahead!

Thanks for the link! I'll go out and hunt for it in the local market. If not, will get in touch with Neolite.

Am trying to get as much orignials as possible. The tail light assembly however is not a genuine spare. Tried sourcing it but could not find it. The one I got is not bad at all though!
