Is it legal to convert an old VW Beetle sedan to a convertible Buggy, in India ?

its not legal in india unless and until you get it endorsed on your RC book which is issued by the RTO.
actually legally speaking even the change in paint has to be endorsed. but people tend to overlook it.

whats your plan?

I plan to import a fiberglass Buggy bodyshell to India and mount it on a VW Beetle chassis already registered in India.
How to proceed with RTO to drive a road legal Buggy based on the VW chassis ?

let me know if you manage to import the fibreglass body shell into india, cause i want to import a wrangler bodyshell to india to be fitted onto a MM!

Was about to suggest the same grease.

Also like the second bodyshell Idea. Do let know as well.
