There is nothing wrong with the reflector as it works perfectly fine with Normal Halogen bulbs and looks as good as new even after 5 years!!!. It may be just that the Xtreme Power bulb's beam pattern and Indigo's reflector optics is not matching well.

I am assuming that your reflectors are the type that use a single H4 bulb, in that case I would suggest you get your reflectors checked, as I have no issues with these bulbs with the same reflector type.

Sorry man didn't know that.How abou trying halonex bulbs 90/100.Do install the relay other wise the holders and the wiring will burn out!

I have installed philips extreme vision after reading review from Auto lighting thread in team BHP. I had spend Rs 750 for bulb and RS 550 for Relay kit its worth of every single penny paid :). I had installed it december 2008 till date its working fine and light throw is very good even in rainy season and its much better than the stock ones.

Hi all,

I have a Hyundai i10 and I am not satisfied with the headlights. My car is less than 1 year old and still under warranty.

Is it possible to use Philips Xtreme Vision bulbs in i10 without any other mod ? What kind of improvement can be expected (approx 50%) ?

I would prefer to get them fitted from the dealer to keep the warranty intact. Is it a good idea, or should I go to aftermarket supplier ? Would there be a significant price difference ?

I tried going through the Auto lighting thread, but the size of the thread scared me. I'm sure it contains info regarding bulb upgrade for i10, but its very difficult to search. May be, we should have separate threads for lighting upgrade for different car models.

Use the 90/100W by all means, but remember these are illegal for street use.

If the car is more than 5 years old there is a strong possibility that the reflectors have become old with age. Compare with the light from a new M800 and then decide for yourself.

90/100 lamps are not legal. I recommend you stick to 60/55 lamps. Try the Philips Xtreme power. It should give you an improvement of at least 40%.

As you do not increase the wattage, it will not impact your warranty. The Authorised service centers will not stock these headlamps. So, buying the headlamps outside and taking your car to the HASC to install them will be your best bet. :thumbs up

The main confusion/misunderstanding about relay in many people's mind is it is powerhouse in itself with little support of battery it can power anything big. This concept is incorrect altogether.

RELAY is nothing but a mechanical/electrical high ampere switch. If you install relay you need to take thick wires all around for switching. Headlight switch inside cabin is a switch which just activate (switch on) the relay. So, headlight switch which switch on the relay in turn relay which switch on headlights and it purely draws current from battery/alternator.

Hope things are clear now.

If you can fit 200+ watt rating switch in dash board with equivalent wires (which can support more than 20 Amps current) there is absolutely no need of relay for 90/100 bulbs. But there is no switch available with 200+ watt ratings.

I and BHPian Raajiv installed the Philips Xtreme power 60/55W in our i10s today. The cost was 950 for each pair.

We installed these at Electra on the OMR and they charged Rs 80/- for replacing each bulb :Shockked:

I took my car for a drive this evening and found that there is an increase in the light throw, some increase in the intensity and spread.

Philips claims 80% more light but I see only about 20% compared to my stock Halonix bulbs. But certainly, these bulbs gave a little more confidence on driving out at nights.

Also, these bulbs are the safest upgrade in the warranty period as they just retrofit without any additional wiring or relays.
