I've been using a "Simota" air-filter for the past 2 years, this filter has a stainless-steel filter element. I clean & oil the filter religiously every couple of months but I'm beginning to suspect its filtration prowess (at least for Indian conditions, on daily drivers). I'm planning to fabricate a custom cold-air-intake & switch to another filter...

RaceTech's dealing with BMC air-filters, how good are they ?

And, where can I source Green-Cotton filters in Chennai ?

Hi friends,
I am on the lookout for new stock filters for my accent 2007.
If anyone on this forum has had first hand experience with K&N, green or PiperCross on Accent .. please share the same.

The car has run 10000kms uptil now.

I have got CNG fitted on my Accent a month ago .. and my monthly run is going to be around 3000 kms.
Will it be logical to go in with these branded air filters .. as I was suggested to change the air-filter every 3000 kms.

Do let me know the PRICES of the filters as well ...

I have seen shops selling K&N filters . but is PiperCross also as readily/easily available in the markets !

Cheers...

I have never used any K&N. However I have used Pipercross and Green cotton. The pipercross which I used was the conical type and the GC is the Wind CAI. I cannot compare those two and say which was better as both should have been either of the conical type or the CAI type. Besides the pipercross that was fitted was probably too small for my engine size (1.3 getz) and probably too close to my engine (and sucking lot of hot air from the engine) that I was very dissatisfied with its performance. I changed to GC wind CAI and am very happy. I wanted to try the storm but there was not much space in the engine bay to fit the storm.

Installed Green Filters didn't find any noticeable change in my Indigo, then switched to K & N and found it far far better in terms of air suction. The power in high rpm is also much more usable, Installed few more in Indica/Scorpio/Swift etc. All doing perfectly well.

Could someone pls answer the below questions:

1) I want to install a filter in my Swift Diesel to get better sound, which one should I go for?
2) Cost?
3) Where would you recommed, place?

Thanks

Since your's is a diesel car, whichever filter you go for, the sound won't be heard in the diesel clatter. Maybe a CAI can give you the sound output. CAI's cost around 6K and replacement around 3K-3.5K

dont think CIA's cost only 6k, conicals come up to 5-5.5k

Was a happy guys with Green Cotton on my Xing.

Now, I want to get something for my Safari 2.2L. Heard Green Cotton's diffuser breaks off in the Safari. Any pointers here?

Availability is the issue and product awareness.

hello members,

i want to install greencotton WIND/STORM filter in my lightly modded mpfi esteem. presently i have k&n conical filter but it sucks in hot air from engine bay often. will wind/strom solve this problem and boost low-mid rang torque?
what is the exact difference bet wind and storm ; couldn't find it on their site...:Frustrati
OR should i go for k&N apollo kit (cost rs9900.00)
please advice...
i am alos trying to contact petes for the same.

I think WIND is for less than 100 BHP car and STORM for more than 100 BHP car.

thanks adi99,
i spoke to petes and they have advised WIND as STORM is a tad too big to fit comfortably in esteem. i am getting the WIND filter along with the dynamization kit by end of this week. will post further details of installation along with pics and results soon.

cheers
viky
