That looks amazing.Always wanted to get my car painted matte black.Maybe you should also remove the chrome above the rear number plate and smoke the tail lights.

nice one bro! my satin black OHC finally has some decent company.
do prepare yourself to handle all the admiration... the people in our city have a funny way of showing it. they scratch until they're not fully clear whether it is sticker or paint. park your car in a public place ONCE and you will know what I mean.

to the others, if done correctly, the paint isn't difficult to keep clean at all. scratches can be an issue. I'm fortunate enough to have found a painter who did the job for cheap. so all I intend to do is to get her repainted every year and not fret about scratches.

Dharmana, if you see an OHC with a big 44 on its rear number plate, honk.

The Matt Black looks to have been executed very well. The car looks "HOT"..hope you are able to maintain the look, as matt paints are difficult to look after.
All the best !!!!!

Cheers

Of course. Depends where you do the job, street side or a professional. The Matt finish on the SX4 seems professional and extremely well finished. The quotes were from a reputed and firm in Bangalore.

not really Pervez, you can get Standox black paint for approximately 2500 bucks a liter. the matte finish comes from playing with the percentage of binding agent and hardener in it which should not exceed another 3000 bucks.
the method of application is the same no matter what paint you use. a booth costs 1200 bucks to rent. its not really needed if you can manage to find a relatively bug and dust free place to paint. matte finish has a mostly to do with the painter's talent and not the ingredients.

in the end, it's not how much you've paid but how happy it has made you that counts.

No no you did not get it. The materials and all are going to cost the same. A professional with all the right equipment is going to charge more than a street side paint shop. There is where the price difference is.

a spray gun, a steady hand and some syringes Pervez. thats all it takes.

check out Professional Satin black paint jobs - pic & info request - Honda-Tech
while some people here have gotten their cars done at a proper professional setup, there are also some that are DIY and still look decent. I only mean to highlight the fact that satin black paint does not need a magic wand that can be found only at a professionals place.

And so it all boils down to where a person wants to get it done, thats all.

Guys, stop talking about prices and if he could have got it done for cheaper.

End result is this: It looks fantastic and the TBHPian is extremely happy. His happiness is worth much more than a few thousand rupees.

+1

No matter for what price yo uget it done, Once it is rated as a head turner, Price doesn't matter at all. Trust me, This is first ever SX4 which made my head turn, Even my friends who were travelling along with me in my car turned back and saw his car till the last second we could see it.

my point exactly. also that one should not be so much in awe of a paint shade that he falls to whatever a painter demands.

here's a pic of my car:
