That's probably a monopoly of Maruti Suzuki P Ltd that even on the top variant (ZXi) of Ritz, they've not included basic requirements like Day/Night rear view mirror + Electric ORVMs

ORVMs can be managed but the rear view mirror (without night mode) hurts most. Even Swift has Day/night mode of rear view mirror. I tried to check if Swift's rear view mirror can be fitted but unfotunately it can't.

So what is the solution? There is no point in using tinted clipped mirrors on the top of factory fitted rear view mirror.

Has anyone come across the same problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks

sun film on the rear glass :D
worked for me!

I had this problem in my M800 and did fit the clip on mirror. It works very well and I don't have to worry about High beams from behind.

Why do you think this will not work ?

I guess, the day/night rear view mirror works because of polarizing top glass. You slightly change angle and it acts as either day/night mirror.
Sticking sunfilm should be fine.

BTW, if you are mainly driving in city, you really do not require this.
It comes handy in highways though. Even in this case, you cannot avoid glaring from OVRM.

it is probably easy to get this thing after market. (the one with the button, not an automatic which is found in high-end cars)

i had the similar problem in my indica, went to a spare parts shop and had a day night mirror installed.

really a useful device on highways.

Hey get the whole set changed with the light. I changed the complete set in our 800 i.e the roof light and rear view mirror from Maruti Zen .
And Maruti is doing very wrong by omitting these basic equipments.

+1 to that. Yes, you could change the entire set. As long as none of the original wires are cut, it should not void warranty but better to check that before the mod.

IMHO, I'm surprised that Maruti leaves out this feature from the Ritz. It's mass produced enough and available on the other models like the Wagon-R and the old zen, even Swift I think. Maruti also leaves out other essential features too quite surprisingly. My Wagon-R vxi has a lot of neat touches and electronic thingies inside, but no rear wipers - which is essential in a hatchback in the rains. It's not available as an option either :Shockked:

Maruti misses these features because few years down the line they will start offering these features and say brand new features have been incorporated in our new updated models. LOL

After recently removing the sunfilm from the ritz rear glass , it has become a pain to drive in the night specially on the highways because of the high beam glare .

Also i have added a bigger rear view mirror few months back for better visibility , so wanted to check will it be a good idea to get a sunfilm added on that clip-on rear view mirror that i have added to stop the high beam glare or can we get day/rear view mirrors like the clip on types .

Please advise

Cheers

I too experience the same problem. I saw the D/N mirror on the top end petrol and have ordered it so that I can put it in my VDI.

Its true that Maruthi is cutting corners on safety! Can't they at least provide this and an adjustable steering wheel even if its at a cost. Guys buying a car will not cringe on these essential items.

IF they bring out a Ritz Automatic in diesel, it will be a killer.

Did you manage to get hold of a day night irvm for your ritz? I am looking for the same; I inquired in Pratham Motors but didn't get any.
