Depends on what you really want. If you're looking for performance enhancement, i doubt if just changing the muffler will do it for you. But if you want to just change the exhaust note then a sporty muffler like Remus would do the trick.
A proper free flow exhaust is from the headers onwards, AFAIK there are no free flow mufflers, though you can find some cat-back or straight-through ones, but these provide negligible performance improvements.

well.. go to Mr Raj Kapoor of Performance Auto in Noida. He has a subaru forester and i have never seen so many foresters ever in his workshop. he is expensive but his work would drive Greddy headers to shame! you gotta see it to believe it!!

You just want a muffler?
Then shouldn't the title be 'muffler' for forester, which btw is universal.

BE CAREFUL! this can be very tricky unless its done by a professional.the engine is flat & the bend pipes are fixed in a position which a normal mechanic will not be able to open.you will enjoy the car only if you get a free flow exhaust from the manifold as you have 2 cat con's which have to be removed as they block a lot of power.a good free flow & a healthy air filter will make the car much quicker initially too.i have a friend in bangalore who has just fixed the remus racing end can,he feels it is powerful but i think it is just the sound that makes him feel that the car is powerful
