Team-BHP - Side window wipers - are these available anywhere ?

Window visors can be surely fitted on a Scorpio as I have seen many Scorpios with it. A precautionary measure is if you have butterfly windows at the back, you won't be able to open them fully, as it may break the visor. The best option would be to use the blower/AC to keep all the windows clear in heavy rains.

Thanks Honeybee, I am now thinking of fixing these window visors on my Scorpio with my next budget. Since I have sliding windows on the 3rd row, this might be possible :)

Switching on the blower / AC does not help in getting rid of the water droplets / water streams on the outer side of the side windows during rains.

For the proposed concealed mechanical side wipers, yes, some re-designing of the door internals will be involved. But, if this could be worked out by car designers and offered as an option, I will take it.

It's just my need for a useful feature, which I thought of highlighting as an end user / customer, since we as customers can drive innovations by highlighting the need for them, on rocking forums like TBhp !!

Sadly, after so many years of using wipers on both the front and rear windshields, none of the car companies have come up with the door window wipers, not even in their prototypes. So I guess you will have to start your own company that offers this modification. Doing all the required modifications individually will certainly become a pain for you, so I guess you are left with limited options.

There is one more mod I can think of, if you are at all willing to risk it: There are electrically heated mirrors on higher-end cars. Try and see if you can get someone fit such a kit on the door window. A heated window would definitely give you a much better visibility in heavy rains. Please bear in mind, this is just an idea that came to my mind, all the pros and cons of implementing this will have to be evaluated by you before you go ahead with it.

Good one, honeybee ! I have no immediate plans on this !
Obviously, I guess it's the need for features, which drives manufacturers to offer them to customers, provided it is commercially feasible, too. The need for this feature may not have been expressed strongly by users, so this might not have been taken up.
But I do hope some manufacturers chance upon this thread, to think of doing something on this !

Let me look up something on the heated windows that you suggested, which will definitely act as a good de-mister. But I feel this may not get rid of the water droplets on the outside :)
