Modified Tata Estate

Saw this tastefully modified tatamobile when we went to Coorg last weekend. I tried searching the forum, but could not find the pics anywhere. I am sure this one does not fit into the weird and whacky thread, but could not find a common there where this can go.

Mods: please remove the post / lock the thread if this is a repost, or move it to a suitable thred, if there is already one.

I think its a Tata Estate not the mobile.
Did'nt the tata mobile came with leaf springs at the rear?
The estate and the sierra had the coil springs at the rear. But the shockers look a tad different in this vehicle.

+1. This looks very much a Tata Estate, and not a 207.

True. In the Tatamobile, one side shocker used to be placed ahead of the rear axle while the other side shocker used to be positioned behind the rear axle. Ditto for Sumo.

Some years back, the Pune factory used to have fleet of roofless Tatamobiles that were used to ferry factory visitors from one end of the factory to the other. Looked somewhat similar to this. Prior to that, they used open Mahindra jeeps for the purpose.

That looks like a estate chassis, the suspension for sure is a give away, with Safari springs for the lift.

Would look much better if it was a less over done. Reminds me of the SUV called "Vamp" from the GiJoe series.

Looks built for a purpose, like a short jig to a wildlife sanctuary or for that offroad stint. But thoroughly minimalist and unsafe for even short use.

Frankly, I don't understand the purpose of this thing, but each to his own I guess. Who am I to pass judgment on this thing...
