Hello all,

Hope i am posting this in the right section.

Anyways i will be traveling to Beijing on a 5 day tour and wondered if anyone here was familiar with the Car Accessory shops out there.

Would love to pick up Angel Eyes, LED tail lights and what not for my Swift

1: Chinese do not modify cars much there except for alloys

3: Swifts are around but not so popular

Malaysia is a better bet

you can get function rich headunits in china, you can buy good looking DSLR cameras there for peanuts, you can buy phones and watches for peanuts, DVDs, in short you can get a lot of electronics and jhing bang(Bling ) stuff for cars.

Do buy a Nikon or canon DSLR if you dont have one.

Not really, been there seen things. There are 2 kinds of quality you get there, one the cheap chinese makes/imitations/look alikes which are pathetic. You will find loads of mobile phones, external HDD, PSP look alikes and what not. I am sure you dont wanna buy these....

The other, a genuine make is more or less on a comparable price with India.

In the last 6 months i have travelled to China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and checked for a SLR camera Cannon which I wanted to buy and the price was much higher than what i found here in GK Vale.

Hence, pls be careful about what you buy in China, there is a huge electronics mall in Beijing some where in Zhongguacun, with 7-10 floor of electronics, computers, and hardware, go check out there and the only conversation that you can do is using a calculator there since most of them dont speak in English and negotiation is done using calculators.

The best and most inexpensive place is Bangkok

Your best bet for all the above is Bangkok, China is the manufacturing hub for all that you want, but unfortunately they are more exported / wholesale and less consumptions in local market. I didnt see any flashy cars with all these in Beijing also.

Any ways do your research and ask people there who can help you, and good luck

Provokes me to ask a question - Why?
If Chinese can manufacture anything under Sun, why not they manufacture mods from engine to exhaust? If Malaysians can make it, why not the Chinese? Can you help me understand pls?

They do, K&N and End cans are available for purchase in china but are replicas of the real one, you get everything you need but only the electronic stuff is worth it, rest all havequestionable quality.

@srisha, i would like to disagree with you, couple of my friends were working in china as onsite as their company was headquatered there, each of them had a mega zoom camera when they came back and when you ask them how much they paid, its peanuts, it works well and looks genuine, but for the price its cheaper than a replica. Ofcourse you get a lot of things which looks fake, my intenetion was to just let the OP know what all he can buy from there.

Try to source LED tail lights. There are many new models abroad. And moreover, LED tail lights are hard to come by in Kerala nowdays. Check my thread for the pics of the new models.
