Hi,

It will cost upwards of 1.25 lac for a proper job which should include the turbo, intercooler, forged pistons, bov, boost controller, piggy back or stand alone ECM, plumbing etc.

Costs will vary according to the brands you choose.

Viper

Seen this Black Swift with red alloys yesterday. Visible mods include :
The "V" of the VXi is replaced by a cheap "Z" sticker
ABS sticker
Graphics on the bumper
Red bumper inserts
And obviously the red alloy wheels

had seen this Lightning Audio swift at the mumbai auto show....on the parking ground

Loved the way the hood was painted.....

Nice rims too...

v12 - That car looks horid. I dont get the point what one would achieve by changing the cars VXi to Zxi. The brakes wont become Anti Lock by adding a Sticker. I really dont get the point why hyundai adds a ABS sticker on the boot of the Getz and the Accent :Frustrati

The lightning audio swift looks good but the graphics on the hood seems to be way over board. That car is a Vxi.

What would be the power gain, top speed gain and drop in FE?

Power gain will depend on the boost pressure.

Top speed can be around 200 but then you will have to limit it till there.

Drop in FE will be negligible as a turbo increases FE (Correct me if i am wrong)

dude if u modify any car heavily ie. turbo feul economy gets thrown out the window if u have the cash to modify ur car and mentain it and u want a 6 lac car to be as fast as a 60 lac car then dont quibble bout fuel economy

haha top speed??????? who cares .... even if it was 300 kmh only a lunatic would try and do that in a swift...mind u u might have to attach wings..... the turbo is only to make it accelerate rappidly so like 0- 100 kmh will be like 6-7 seconds...... and even with that u need to do the suspension and brakes to make it driveable and safe

But afaik in swift vxi abs is optional.

Well...naa i prefer not because the car in the pic is a 3 door car while mine is 5 door, so would never look as good as this what so ever.

hyundai adds the sticker because getz and accent do come with ABS. i think even the santro came with one,

Its Lxi.....look no Black coloured A- & B-pillar...& Coloured outside door mirror cowls...

I've seen that silver coloured 'LIGHTNING AUDIO' swift often parked in a car audio shop in Mulund.
It is probably the owners.
That guy claims to sell audio stuff for cars at grey market prices along with his warranty. Wonder if it would be worth it. Am planning to visit him soon.

Turbocharging a car would cost less than 2 lacs ??!!
And u say that a swift could go upto 200 kmph !!
In that case all speed freaks should go ahead with it rather than buying cars that cost 2 - 10 times that much ??
What's the catch other than the fact that FE would be reduced (which would be an obvious outcome).

I've known of guys who have easily spent a couple of lacs to spruce up their cars with top of the line audio stuff and other fancy cosmetic mods (which sometimes look quite outrageous).
Why don't they go in for TC first ???
That is what I would give priority to, if I had the moolah :D

Another question . . . . .
I was told that TC causes a significant increase in the sound of the car and in certain metros with tough regulations, cops could give you a difficult time.
Is that so ?

If it is, how do guys with TC cars manage ?

Why are u saying that the "V" of the VXi was replaced by a "Z" ?
From what I can make out after seeing the pic, it is actually a ZXi, as it has the original Maruti Swift alloy wheels, rear wiper and defogger all of which come only in the ZXi.
In which case the ABS sticker would also be an original.

Bikefreak, the 'Z' is obviously a sticker whereas the 'Xi' is a badge, the alloy wheels would've been either bought second hand or fitted on the 'VXi' in the showroom at the time of delivery!

Ps: those wheels are gross........!!!!
