Convert Rear Fog Lamp To LED On Swift

Hi all,

I am a huge fan of Formula 1 and any of you guys who watch the F1 races have probably seen the bright red LED light at the rear of all cars that blink while driving through rain or while making a pit stop. Now, we know that the Swift/Swift DZire have a similar red fog lamp at the bottom of the rear bumper which can be switched on as a safety feature during conditions having low visibility. I have however noticed that this light is'nt that bright and tends to fade in time.

Now my question is, can this light be converted to LED? I would love to have it bright red and blink just like seen on the F1 cars. I am sure it can be a DIY but is this possible? Has anyone tried this or can tell me how this can be done?

Another option is to get hold of Streetglow Strobe lights and fit them in the Fog-lamp cluster.

Else - it can be DIY

Hi,

These are pretty good suggestions and options. However, I have seen strobes and believe me they are the most irritating things one can fit on their cars. They are truely a nuisance to fellow drivers. I am looking to do such a modification for the safety aspect more than for show and hence would prefer LEDs are they are more soothing to the eyes.

I will give the strobe thing a try though. Any other suggestions involving LEDs?

No idea. I have seen this long time back while browsing YouTube. I had plans of getting these. Nightzconcepts are basically into these kind of mods. But not able to find their website. I shall check this out and update you. You too keep the thread updated if you get any news on this.

The second video looks much better and the blinks are consistent unlike that of Noidaboy's.
