Gear Lock in Accord MT type2

Hello Friends,

Does fitting a gear lock in Accord MT type 2 make any sense! I am not aware of the security features of the accord.

Enquired from autocop and they say that only U type is feasible. Wondering how bad it would look!!

Any experience!

Thanks.

Regards
Gaurav

Not really since the car does have an immobilizer. To start the car not only the key, but also the chip in the key have to match with the cars ecu, only then will it crank.

Thanks Akshay.

Does that mean that with engine immobilizer your car is as safe as with a gear lock!!

I guess these days more and more cars are coming with engine immobilizer (also got it in my Fusion)! So you dont actually need a gear lock in such cars!

Gaurav

Yes it is. Because both will stop someone from driving away with your car, but not from breaking in.

You cant auto roll up. You can put the windows down with the remote, but cant put them up.

Also you can put all 4 windows up from the drivers side door. You have to lock the drivers door with the key, let the key come back to the central position, again turn the key towards the right and keep it there. The windows will start rolling up.

BTW you should look at a tire upgrade. It is very, very necessary.

Will try out the roll up with key today.

tyre upgrade is definitely in the pipeline, but with a bit of delay, may be 4-5 months! thinking of 17 inchers! not yet invested time in this. At the moment everything is stock and in perfect running condition.

Its a Honda afterall so it will be in perfect running condition.

You can also roll the windows down with the key, exactly the opposite way of putting them up.

Also with the remote, if you press unlock once, then leave it and press it again and keep it pressed. All 4 windows will roll down. Nice trick
