typhoon intake

my brother was looking out for a performance mod for his corolla.
already running a K&N and freeflow.
i was thinking of building a custom cold air intake for the car.something like the typhoon intake system.
was planning to build an aluminium tubing from the air induction area till the air vents below the grill and placing the air filter on that.
could consider using carbon fibre too incase i can get hold of it from somewhere.

any ideas if this mod would work?
your inputs guys.

anything particular that i should pay attention to while building this thing ??
also just an idea can i get hold of a compressor and hook it onto this tubing??
would i need to remap the ECU for this? to compensate for in increase in air intake?
pardon my ignorance.not too familiar with FI

cheers.
