Does anyone have any pointers for getting a durable chesty for GoPro, say for about 1-1.5k? Or maybe 2k also but probably not more than this.

GoPro's own chesty is a little on the higher side and I don't want to spend 3.5k on it.

Neopine had listed some great chestys on amazon.in for about 1.7k but they are no longer there, any idea about this?

Finally ordered the GoPro Chesty for 2.9k and another set of Wasabi batteries for 2.1k from amazon.in

Spent a lot of time looking for alternates but no other chest harness had convincing reviews.

Now I'm left to order Sandisk Extreme 64 GB for my Hero 3+ Black Edition. Its listed for 4.1k, if anyone knows of a better deal than this please let me know!

Don't know how i missed your previous post. I bought a chest harness from dx.com
The shipping is slow but its cheaper.
I had bought the memory card from the same site, but it was priced higher than 4k a year back

Guys,

You may want to check with your friends in US.

Check this camera. For 27 Dollars i picked up a couple of them and can confirm the quality of output is stunning for the price. I will post videos

This comes with some interesting mounts and can be used at multiple locations in your car :)

Some pictures in difference scenario grabbed using Print Screen in Windows player on a crappy laptop screen. 1080P for sure.

So this nails it for me. The night time video from a 27 dollar 1080 P Camera. Check both the videos from GOPRO and this 27 dollar camera.

The video is edited to lower resolution to make it quicker and easier to compare. Took a route that takes through different lighting to experiment with the camera.

27 Dollar

Go Pro Hero 3+ Black

This is a far cheaper altenative to DVR's and can be mounted and removed at your choice with simple recording option.

I am going to get a couple for my Car :)

The last one is from my way to home from work mounted the camera on the rear hand grab and its twilight.

Thanks for the headsup, BHPian Klub Class found the same on eBay India for Rs1700 and I picked up a couple! Can't wait to get and try them out!

I'll also be buying a Suction cup with tripod thread mount so that I can fix it on the windsheild.

Hey
Can you please post a link to the deal/item?
And what is the name of the camera? Also, how was the buying experience?

And please do post some footage you've shot on it.

You may not need this. If you are buying exactly the same camera listed there, you are getting a nice welcro loop which you can use to secure the camera anywhere you want you.

Including your centre mirror, front grill, side mirrors and what not.

Remember these have decent battery life. And i am not sure if they work while charging. You may want to check on those as it is more like an action camera with a 850mah battery inside it.

I will check later today to see if it can be charged while recording.

Also this camera is aboslutely user unfriendly. Does not have options to change settings including loop recording. These are few constraints at the end of the day.

For me i just needed a cheap set up of 3-4 cameras in and around my motorcycle to probably edit and create a movie :)

Seller has sensed the demand and unfortunately jacked up the price. Its now 2100+100 shipping.

Pay by Oxigen Wallet and use coupon code OXIGENSAL3 on eBay app or m.ebay.in and you'll get 12% discount, which makes the camera about Rs1936 with shipping after discounts.

Guys who own the SJ4000, can you confirm that you also receive a motorcycle handlebar mount? Is it also good and sturdy? I had ordered one separately - but might not need it if the one in the SJ4000 package is good enough.

Hi Rajeevraj,

Regards.

Yup, there is a bike mount. Have not used it, but looks decent enough. A picture below for your reference.

Edit: Just realized that you had asked this question almost a month back. So my answer may not be relevant now. :)

Yes,I did buy one off Ebay India. The seller was a person in Bangalore. Cost was around ~Rs 800. The mount was of above average quality I would say. But one day I ended up tightening it more than was necessary and it broke. Then just ended up sticking on the dash with double sided tape.

I don't see the listing from the seller whom I bought from, but there are several options- Need to search for Go Pro Car mount.

Hahaha, yes, I have already received the bike mount I'd ordered separately. No worries and thanks. Looks like I cannot use it anyway on a CBR due to the clip-on handlebars.

Kind of a weird question but here goes.

Helmet mount - left side or right side? I am confused

Left side Pros:
* Lens of SJ4000 is on the left side, so will be a good wide view
* Not exposed to any vehicles on the right side

Left side cons:
* Can some joker swipe it away by hitting the camera? - here I should have mentioned that I mean pedestrians

Right side pros:
* View of oncoming traffic, helpful if there is an accident etc

Right side cons:
* A bit of helmet can be viewed since the lens is on the left
* Can (!!) be hit by vehicles, standing traffic ?

I am very confused?
