HELLO BHPIANS.One of my uncle owns a 2000cc diesel lancer & I told him that adding a turbo would be a great choice to improve performance.I would like some advise on whether it would be possible to add a turbo & the other mods that can be done to improve the performance of the car.

Adding a turbo is not that cheap and a lot of work has to be put into it. And since its a diesel, i don't think u'll get much of a difference in performance. For a start get a nice induction system and a good exhaust ie. if its possible

the cheapest turbo will set you back by ~40k INR ,butfitting a turbo is not that easy, only a experienced tuner can tune a car well.

Hi Guys,
I am Arvind and I also have a diesel lancer and I was looking at doing some performance modifications for my car. I was also talking to Aditya and he told me about Psyco and he said that he modifys cars big time. But I believe he does it for passion. Guess he will be having some answers that you are looking for. I also would like to know some facts about Diesel engines. Well if my Lancer is a 2000 CC and comes with 68 bhp, then the Scorpio is a 2500 CC and comes with a 110 BHP (+ Turbo). Generally, correlating from a layman's point of view, I guess fitting a turbo kit similar to that of a scorpio should give the anticipated power increase. I would also like to fit the universal cold air intake kit from K & N.. it will be great if you can let me know on the power boost it will deliver.

A turbo will only give you an increase in power. The amount of increase depends on how it is set up, and how much pressure it generates. Theoretically, you can double, or even triple your engine power, but modifications are involved.

However, as far as turbos go, Psycho would be the best person to contact, since he has first-hand experience with them. For further information on how turbos work, you can visit HowStuffWorks.com or search TBHP.
