This is great news overall and I hope it leads to more confidence with the promoters of other race series. GT Racing can definitely be better fit for India seeing as there's actual Indian racers in GT3 and GT4.

As India finds a place on the MotoGP calendar and the bigwigs pledging support for its success, I wonder how this will change the motorcycling scenario in the country. Will we finally have better motorbikes on the roads? How will the event change the Indian attitude to motorcycling?

Nothing will change! The Grand Prix will come and it will go, for how long it comes and goes, nobody knows

Die hard fans will try to make it for the race in 2023 itself to be on the safe side. The motorcycle scenario has improved a lot say in the last 10-15 years to what it used to be. Instead of better motorcycles we desperately need better infrastructure, read better roads. Hope that happens.

On the other hand, top Japanese manufacturers in India are busy launching just 100-300cc under-powered bikes and scooters for Indian consumers. One step forward, five steps backward!

Just need a fully fit Marc Marquez to take the battle to the Ducati riders and Fabio. MotoGp feels lacking without Marc Marquez, in my opinion.

It is great news for all motorsport fans. I was personally upset that Formula 1 left India after 2013 because of the tax issues as the then local govt. did not classify motorsport as a sport and only as an entertainment. Hope Moto GP also does not end like the formula 1 way in India.

This is such brilliant news.

This would also mean a much needed revenue stream for the BIC, the track was barely making any money with only a handful of car and bike launches and a few races every year. All credit to them for keeping it running, it was barely making enough to cover its running expenses.

On the flipside I am sure trackdays are now going to cost a whole lot more , the prices for open trackdays had anyway increased quite substantially after the lockdown.

Hope this pushes motorsport into the limelight in our country. We sure have the talent.

Do you guys have any idea what will be an approximate price of tickets?

I was checking Malaysia ticket prices and they start from 22 euros and go up to 130 euros, that means around 2000 rupees. Has anyone attended India GP(F1 or superbike race) who can confirm what ticket prices were?

I attended French Motogp in 2017 and it costed me 77 euros with to & fro travel from Paris.
