First step would be to get rid of the rims and the tyres.
The Yezdi 16' wheels are way to heavy.
best would be to shift to 17'

You would need a better/bigger carb.
say something like a 28mm or a 32mm.

You need to loose all the weight you can on the bike to make it competitive.your going to be competing against the 350 twins!

Try and find someone in delhi experienced enough to make you a good expansion chamber.its the most crucial part of a two stroke engine.

ALL this apart from a good port job is all you would need to manage a good timing.

best of luck with the project.

hey abishek..i have a 83' yezdi classic.. got a lot o work done on it ground up.. bluepeinting of the engine to porting, boring out,etc you need lots of work to make the classic a good drag bike.. this is primarily due to the design of the engine.. long stroke, not very hi rpms.. can be done but you need someone who has played with yezdis.. a roadking will make a better candidate. as for the chambers you will need to sit down with design formulae and work out for yourself at what range you want them to function and desgn them accordingly..

Thanks guys,

Now after looking at all of you post I think that i should restore my Yezdi to stock and original like new with just a better air filter and a bigger carb if allowed on stock race 250cc. And for mod categories drags race i will start off with a new project over good RD350 but not this year. So this year i will be there either with my restored yezdi if i am able to finish it before the speed run or I will be their with my car (stock alto) to cheer you all guys from team BHP.

Regards

Abhishek

I thought the Yezdi's had one bridged exhaust port already? Are you trying to say he should make it a single large exhaust port?

Oh. Didn't know that one... interesting. And yet, the roadkings were supposed to pump out more power than the classics...

the roadies do pump out more power.. 2 bhp more approx.. mapnly due to eng. design.. classi more of a long stroke design.. roadies shorter.. revs sweeter and higher

To improve performacen, try and hunt for a High-compression head (popular with yezdi mechanics as "flower" because of its shape) for your yezdi. It used to come standard with one of the yezdi models not sure which. Also with regards to to expansion chamber, don't try 2 yamaha expansion chambers, there is a lot of calculation that goes into the design of an expansion chamber.... just try talking to other yezdi mechanics, you'll be able to source them.

Good Luck with preparation of your drag yezdi bike. All the best for the drag as well.

Either ways the DElhi Speedrun has been cancelled.
Hard LUck mate.

Get to know Yezdi mechanics in your city and slowly build it up.

Oh yeah. forgot about the shorter stroke. You're right. that definitely lets the bike rev more.
