Yamaha launched two limited edition colours for the YZF R15.

Both new coloured limited edition R15's will be available for Rs. 1,10,000/- ex-showroom Delhi.

• Fiery Red (limited edition) - 6000 units.
• 50th Anniversary Limited Edition (white) - 4000 units.

Ray Scooter Concept

Yamaha also showcased a new scooter prototype called RAY for the Indian Market. With this Yamaha plans to provide a riding option to the Indian women, since there is no scooter available from their current portfolio.

• The Ray can be seen on the road in late 2012. (As claimed by Yamaha)
• Looks decent. Nothing out of the box.
• Silver finish on the handle bar and the storage bin area looks too flashy. However, this is a concept and we do not know for sure what will be seen at the production line.
• Front Telescopic Forks.
• "Ray" written in silver sparkle finish adds to the feminine character.

Also present at the Yamaha Stall were 3 Scooters currently on sale in other ASEAN countries. (Thailand & Indonesia)

Please note : Yamaha does not plan to bring these to India.

Hey thanks a ton for these pics.. I was waiting for this. I remember some rummours about a 250cc Bike from Yamaha, did they launch or have announced any plan to launch this year?

Please advice if you have any information about the same.

There is no news yet about Yamaha bringing in a 250cc engine.
We know that there have been a lot of speculations going around since a year almost.

We can just wait and let the company take us by surprise till then..

There goes a missed opportunity. Not a single manufacturer is looking to venture into higher capacity scooters with disc brakes. Last hope with Yamaha is also gone now - at least for the time being.

For the sheer practicality of it, scooters are a nice alternative to bikes but whatever we got is only 'errand boys' good for short trips. What's wrong with MIO or XEON? And we haven't come to long range tourers yet

@parry, thanks for the wonderful pics.

I was waiting for this thread to see for some good products being launched by Yamaha atleast in the scooter segment and thoroughly disappointed. Was the Auto Expo a means from showcasing ltd edition models, C'mon Yamaha. You can do better than that. All they launch is some gaudily looking scooter aimed at female riders, with such flashiness I doubt whether any women would think about it.

The Vmax looks super hot (sorry not referring the model atop)

Seems Yams now eyeing on the scooter market.... So maybe once again 2012 may go without a long waited 250cc?

Great pictures once again. Is it just me or does the Fiery Red R15 look like some almost there mod paint scheme that one finds on biking forums? The anniversary edition looks the part though.

The silver finish on the scooter would probably act as a good anti theft deterrent. Nobody in their right minds would want to steal such a two wheeler

Very disappointed with Yamaha's show at the Auto Expo.

R15 - new colours? Yawn!
Ray - Looks too similar to the Honda Dio, and I dont think ladies will fancy this scooter. Might as well make for a gentleman's ride, if they avoid all the sparkles and stickerwork.
