Well, to me it means either or both of the below:
1. Cost cutting
2. Maybe some interference with the Exhaust or reduction in GC

Deliveries started last week, I saw a few reviews on Xbhp already, waiting for them on T-BHP. Maybe people are too busy enjoying their rides

The display and test drive vehicles are coming on 12th June to Jai bajaj,Chennai. They said that we can expect the delivery at the end of this month ! Also there were rumors that bajaj is planning to increase the prices of all vehicles but I dont think they will increase the price of the 200NS cause the price quoted by Jai Bajaj is still 98000.

Saw the same guy riding a red one this time along the same area. He was followed by another blue one and the new Discover 125ST. This time they had temp plates on, so it is indeed people from a Bajaj showroom somewhere in Ghatkopar.

From the 3 colors I've seen, red looks best. 125ST was also looking good and definitely looked larger than a 125cc

Mods on the 200NS started already. Saw a yellow 200NS with projectors and it looked good. couldn't have a closer look for some other mods as I was traveling by bus.
Yellow looks good by the way!

Re: The All New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Unveiled! Update: Rs 84,096- ex showroom Pune

Went to jai bajaj showroom , Chennai today and there she was standing majestic at the centre of all other bikes. The yellow and black colours are displayed there. All these days I was sure of buying the red colour and after seeing the yellow im in a complete dilemma here ! My phone lost its charge so took pictures with my frnds phone and I'll upload it asap.
Anyway about the bike. It looked super sporty and huge. Bigger than 180 for sure and I feared that it might be heavy but surprisingly due to all its carbon fibre parts its very light. The sitting posture is also comfortable and the seat is super comfy and huge. Pillion does not sit very high like the R15 , which is a good thing. All the fit and finish is perfect except that there was the front disc oil tube that was left uncovered near the Speedo console which could have been better hidden( although this is not a big issue , I had to mention some cons of the bike and this was the only one found ). The dealer said test drives will be starting next week and the deliveries begin by July end or at the very start of august . He also mentioned that they would be receiving about 20 bikes at the first load although he said 20 is the minimum limit and the exact number cannot be predicted .
Overall I'm very much satisfied with the looks of the bike and I'm sure that most of U will be. And as far as I know performance should not at all be an issue from a pulsar !

Re: The All New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Unveiled! Update: Rs 84,096- ex showroom Pune

Finally got the chance to swing a leg over one of the test mules last night. Short 5 odd km ride. Bike is around 10000 km old and oil was at around 5000+ kms. Those who compare this bike to the Duke and gleefully rub their hands at the 30K "premium" saved have either never ridden the Duke to anywhere close to its true potential, do not have/want to spend the extra 30K and are rationalizing based on on-paper numbers, or are simply fanboys not open to the obvious truth.

Which is that these two bikes are chalk and cheese. Yes, the NS "may" be the best Pulsar ever built. But to be fair and less than brutal, lets leave it at that.

The pull is nowhere close. The handling is nowhere close. The grip levels are nowhere close. The suspension is nowhere close, be it the non-compliant front or the jumpy rear.

But by far the scariest thing was the front end which obviously had something seriously wrong. First corner lean in and it became clear something was not right. The handle and rest of the bike were obviously out of sync. The bike has never been dropped, never been abused.

Just thought I'd share this with you.

Since I am yet to read of anyone rubbing their hands in glee as you so condescendingly put it, I will just assume that this is just a figment of a fevered imagination and move on.

In the several test drives by reputed magazine testers, none have said it is comparable to the Duke because of the Dukes alloy swing arm, inverted front fork, shorter gearing and FI. Therefore, we are none of us under that mistaken impression. Please keep your judgement for the reasons others like myself might prefer to save their own hard earned money to yourself and stick to the point, which is the bike.

This certainly cannot be an unmanaged bike, or maybe there was some serious issue with this one particular pre-production piece. All but your review of the bike come across as very impressed with its dynamic abilities, though not stellar when compared to the Duke.

Since the production version is out, why not test drive that and see how it goes?

Nothing condescending about it. You may assume away at your convenience, or you may cast a wider net and read more. You do not have to agree with my opinion or "figment of my fevered imagination." Moving on would be the best option all said and done.

Have you bought the NS? If so, my apologies for touching a raw nerve. I have been riding for more years than many of multiple "reputed magazine testers" put together so you will naturally excuse me if I do not put more stock in what they write for commercial print over what I see and feel for myself. I would suggest you do the same, but unlike you, am a tad more parsimonious with giving unsolicited advice.

And you know that how? Divine revelation? I know the tester for the past 10 years. I have been riding with him and this bike for the past 4 months now. Please do not hypothesize about something you are totally clueless about.

That's great. That still does not change my view. You see the beauty here? We are all actually allowed to have our own. Isn't that neat?! What a novel concept .....

You ask why not. I ask why.

I am neither in the market for this bike, nor am I here to prove a point. I rode the bike that has been getting a lot of rave reviews, and I was less than impressed. Something I shared here on a thread that is dedicated to the bike. End of story from where I stand.

You may see it differently, but that is your prerogative.

You know what the REALLY funny part of all this is VeluM?

On my Duke thread, it was you who asked me this:

And this was my reply at that time:

Yes it is. But I have never really ridden the bike so there is nothing I can personally say this way or the other about the bike. Plus when we ride together its not a race or a competition between two machines (NS vs Duke). Nav would be the best person to comment as it has been his daily rider for some time now.

So then, why now does my review comparing the two bikes, now that I have actually ridden the NS (and not hearsay gyaan like you seem to put a lot of stock in apparently), trouble you so much?!!!

Cheers!

Re: The All New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Unveiled! Update: Rs 84,096- ex showroom Pune

Post script:

Of the 12 test mules, only two of them have crossed 10,000kms from what I know.

One the bike I rode and which is due for a major service, the other which has already had its 10,000 km service.

The bike I rode has the issue which was indpendently pointed out by three of us, two being part of the test rider group.

The issue was not reported in the bie earlier, and has apparently cropped up in the past 1000 odd kms.

This bike has done a few 500-1000 km rides, as well as a major ride to the Rann of Kutch as well.

It has never been dropped, has been regularly serviced and looked at tby the R&D folks, and has never been abused or ridden by anyone besides the test rider.

Cheers.

Though many have already posted the pics , here is my contribution. This bike caused some serious confusion whether to go for red or yellow before which I was sure to go for red

The split handlebars are not adjustable like on the R15 and the Apache apparently. The same ol' clip-ons that are on the current range it looks like.
