Great review there niranjanrvce. Very precise and its clear that you know your machines.

How about a video of that fire breathing M4 exhaust?

Hope you add more machines to your garage. Ride safe and have fun!

Re: From Honda CBR250R to Duke200 to Ninja250R: Quarter liter ownership story!

Thank you for sharing your views on the three bikes.

You nailed it right on the Enfield cause I own one and no longer find it fast enough for my touring needs. The air cooled engine does not survive too long at triple digital speeds too. Kinda defeats the purpose of owning a cast iron 500 single. Parts are next to impossible for this engine too so I don't plan on holding on to my Enfield any longer.

The Honda sounds like it for me. Just wondering if I should wait for the bigger KTM launch cause I absolutely love the styling and have heard only goods things about the handling.

Does the CBR have a waiting period anymore?

Yes CBR has 15 day waiting for 2013 manufactured models. I am booking Tri-color tomorrow, so got this info. If it is a black or Red, it is available off-the shelf.

Thank you for the information. 15 days is alright. I was under the impression that the waiting period was in months. Who was your dealer and can you share some information on current pricing over a PM maybe? Unless you don't mind listing it here.

Coming up - problem is that mobiles don't capture the sound well at all. Will try and get a decent clip.

Excellent review. Pretty much sums it up,

Came across this video where a tweaked CBR takes on the Ninjas on a race track

Congrats Niranjan, did not know that you got yourself a Baby Ninja. When is the next big step up coming? Is it being planned or already in the wings

Should say this has been a very practical review of all the 3 bikes which currently happen to be the rage in Indian Market. Did you pick up a pre-worshipped Bike or was it a new one?

Also any reason as to why you let go off the CBR with regards to KTM. Always rated CBR slightly better considering the highway comfort it provides you with.

Thanks Mahesh. I had the ninja for highways so preferred the KTM for city riding. Next step is later this year hopefully but got to see what options will be available then
The Ninja was pre-worshipped - Aditya pointed me to it. The other two were new.

Had seen this vid a couple of months back. Its good to see that the CBR actually has scope to improve it to the point where it gives a tough time to the Ninja.

But here's a thought, the CBR has been prepped up much more than the Ninja. Apart from the FFE on the Ninja, it doesn't look there has any 'prep' gone in.

Had the same amount of prep gone in for the Ninja, I think the story would have been different.

Re: From Honda CBR250R to Duke200 to Ninja250R: Quarter liter ownership story!

Thanks for this very insightful article. I had been very seriously considering buying a Honda CBR250 when I was in Delhi. But the plan had to be cancelled when I left for higher studies abroad.

But now my elder brother is planning to upgrade from his first generation Hero Honda Karizma and this would be an interesting article to share with him. Also, if he does buy one of these bikes I will always take them for a ride when I return.

The whole segment is production class. So internals on both bikes remain untouched.Same mods go on both bikes or they are at-least free to run mods to certain extent. The journo/rider however details on the better aspects of handling on the CBR with better springs and valve emulators.

But as you said out and out a tuned Ninja can take the ball game to a different level.

Excellent review!

Yes, you are the man to give us a feedback about Hyosung 250 too

So if you were to replace the Duke and Ninja, what would these be?

Thanks for the wonderful review of the three contenders. I am sure your review will pave way for many to choose the right one of the three. Do keep updating the thread and Drive Safe.

The 2013 manufactured models as in the new colors or simply the ones manufactured in 2013.
And any idea as to when the new colors would arrive in India and how long would it take to be delivered after having booked it? I am planning to book mine in April as well.

And Kudos for the comparison.
