53hp is not a great power output in US... they ride much powerful HDs. Hence, they are of the opinion that the bikes (the Street 500 & Bullet) are under powered. However, the Street 500 is almost twice as much powerful than the Bullet 500. I feel HDs definitely have the more power advantage here.

I think 53 has been quoted as the output of 883 and not street 500.
half of 53 is 26.5,thats what the street 500 makes
