found out two options, IXIL l3x hyperlow and the GPR. Has anyone here used either of these. Any first hand experience will really be helpful

I saw this on Snapdeal! No idea how it fits as the picture shows only the slip-on.

Last day I made an enquiry about the RC390 at Vytilla, Kochi showroom. I was told the present RC390 does not come with slipper clutch or any changes that Duke 390 got in 2015. Is it true that RC390 now doesn't have slipper clutch? If not when it will be available?

Yes what your have heard is true. RC390 doesn't come with slipper clutch. And no news of an updated model with slipper clutch in the near future.

Hi Nasirkaka,

Hope you are doing good. I am planning to buy the duke 390 in the coming month. Going by your post maybe I need to delay my purchase.
I can wait for a few months(Only buying for weekend trips). I don't want to buy a bike which is going to get updated soon. What will you suggest.

Other members suggestions also welcome. please:

Cheers

Reading this has tempted me too into thinking on the same lines! I feel a newer exhaust will change the exhaust note drastically, and that would be a welcome change. Sensor based throttle input sounds pretty good as well. Almost like "Fly by wire"
Bajaj KTM is known to upgrade their products regularly to improve them. And the news on new developments is from someone who had visited their service training modules. So most likely they will be true. Only factor is time and feasibility. Waiting or not waiting would totally depend on personal urgency.

This is a bike meant for riding fast. And personally, I am not a person who can sustain high speeds on a bike. Makes me tired. Riding 10 minutes gave me a head-ache(maybe due to improper head gear).

Its also a fantastic cruiser and not neccessarily only meant for riding fast. Its a fantastic light bike with highest safety equipment you can get for that price range and has cheapest maintenance cost for such a powerful bike.

All in all its a great daily motorcycle. Speed can be tapped but not neccessarily the only way to ride.

Agree completely. On the highway, my 200 used to comfortably hold better speeds than any of my "cruiser" 500s ever could, without feeling as strained, handled braked and got back to speed also a lot better, with fewer vibes and much lesser sound. All of it resulting in being able to ride longer and faster and being a lot less drained at the end.

The 390 is a lot better. Though you stop a lot more for fuel.

Guys, Air is leaking from my tire. Its not a puncture as I checked with soap water and it seems to be leakingfrom the side wall near the rim. I suspect the sealant between the tire beading and the rim is screwed. Any idea where I can get it resealed in Bangalore? I tried a couple of puncture shops and they said they dont do it. And the showroom people told theyll need an entire day :/

Have you checked the air valve? D390s are notorious for having poor quality air valves. Mine has been replaced already.

Else, to get the sidewall issue rectified, you can phone and confirm some tyre shops in JC Road or any of the tyre shops on the downward slope opposite KTM Banashankari. They're pretty good with it.

Guys, which coolant are you using for the D390? I need to fill it as its close to empty..

Motul is the preferred coolant i think

Motul Inugel Xtreme.

Now that the 2016 RC390 is revealed, can we expect upgrades to the Duke 390 too? Have been waiting to book the duke 390 after the 2016 refresh, i.e if there is one.

Guys got it checked. Apparently the beading is damaged due to a large nail :( Will it be covered under warranty? Or atleast can I claim insurance for tires? Does bumper to bumper include tires?

Update:

Got the Bullet Classic 13mm Master brake cylinder fitted. The brake is better, with better bite.

So, for the nonce, the problems I had with the brake have been fixed.

Hopefully this is a fix will last.

It costed me about 2k.
