Sorry for being the wet blanket here but I don't think it is safe to take your family in a motorcycle side car in the road conditions and driving habits currently prevailing in India. The side car is like a handicap to the motorcycle where you loose all the agility of a two wheeler. Counter steering won't work any more and the braking also suffers.

Totally agree with you, Adrian. But the Royal Enfield with a side car just looks so complete and classic. Well I think by the trend of what everyone's discussed here, it looks good only on paper than for real.

So I am again in market looking for freedom (read bike) and as we say "Once bullet always bullet", heart is pulling towards C5 as STD 350 CI is history now.

Lets see how it goes.
You're bikeless and I am pretty much speechless thinking how could a man sell a Bullet and end up with a Tata Safari of all things. Just kidding my friend. You should be on thumper soon.

No arguments on the matter.
On a practical level, I think of the side car as a good accessory during the old age when our knees would start to buckle when trying to heave the bullet off the stand The electric start is on top of the list I want to add to my bullet when I grow old. Now I have started to think of one more accessory so that I can stay connected with my motorcycle in my old age (God willing) - The side car

May your dreams come true. I think to be fair and square, I keep the Bullet for life and buy another motorcycle, preferably the Suzuki Inazuma, it isn't the fastest of all the newbies but the refinement of that thing is just brilliant. When I checked it out at the showroom at Domlur here in BLR, it was more than 3 lakhs OTR. I was like 3L for a 250cc twin??? But now I have come to know that it is somewhat within my reach but I will have to tighten my belt real hard to buy it. And then get my beloved Bullet a sidecar just for those fun trips. If this happens I am sure of one thing, it will turn heads more than anything else on the road.

Re: Side Car for the Royal Enfield

Even I have been thinking the same : fitting a sidecar and buying an Inazuma!!

Now I've concluded that the sidecar will make my Enfield into a pure city rider and the Inazuma might be the next best choice to the MoJo300 ( hopefully out soon , but with a better name:-) )

Re: Side Car for the Royal Enfield

I think I changed my mind and probably wait a little more for this, the Suzuki GSX-S1000. Probably the best looking naked street fighter out there. Reminds me of the classic Pink Floyd song Money every time I look at it here.
