Re: Hero Splendor Pro Classic - 7.7 PS Cafe Racer launched at Rs. 53,900

Wow! when I read the thread title I thought it is some mod job being passed off as a launch!

Just cant fathom the thinking behind this launch. It is disturbing on so many levels.

Racer with a 92cc 7.7PS engine! Right!

Mango man will want at least two seats (one for pillion) to take his 'family' around. It is not even as affordable as original Splendor. I can not find this modification 'stylish' by any definition and I think it is unjustified to call this a cafe 'racer'.

Splendor used to have similar power in late 90s and was quite a looker for that time period. Bringing up something which has no significant technological advancement after 15 years and which looks uglier is not progress.

I personally would have liked to see it being a bit more powerful too, 110-125cc.

The company though does understand this will be a niche market, dealers have 2-3 bikes available. Response has been decent, it certainly attracts the attention of the consumer who might be looking for something different that is affordable.

Also, company has a 2 seater kit that can be changed. The only caveat there is the customer is then responsible for registering the vehicle with RTO as having capacity for 2 people, the dealer based registration will only be for 1 person.
