Dear BHPian's

There's just a similar thread running on Cars i.e., "I Booked my Car" thread in the "What Car?!" Section, which made me think why not have the same for Motorbikes / Scooters.

Please announce all bookings in this thread. Only once you receive delivery of your Motorbike / Scooter, may you create a new thread in the Motorbikes Section for nice detailed review.

The primary reason behind this initiative is to allow all BHPians help keep track of pricing + discounts running on each vehicle (If Any) And also who aren't able to contain their excitement regarding it to inform the forum. :D

I got one off the shelf; the two hours that I had to wait for, was for them to fit the accessories and wash the vehicle. The dealer had about a 100 Activa 3Gs lying in the building itself and many more in the stock yard.

Good Idea a4anurag! clap:, and congratulations on your booking.

Also a4anurag some information/guidance regarding checking the manufacturing date of the 2 wheeler would be a great guidance here as we have for the four wheeler.Link for the same,

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/buying...cture-vin.html

Something like this would help many. If a thread on the same already exists then merge with this thread.:)

Regards,
abhayankara

Congrats for your new scooter. One comment about the accessories, Honda does not provide anything, though, number plate, side stand, and ladies foot rest are mandatory for registration.

Aren't these standard? My Activa came with the side stand, side foot rest and two mirrors.

All the units kept in display and storage too had these fitted (the number plate and mirrors are fitted later though).

They do not come factory fitted, but fixed by the dealer and I was charged separately for them during my purchase in last Jan.

I think the RVMs are standard, not factory fitted but provided by factory (kept in storage compartment). A friend picked up an Aviator last year and wasn't charged for RVMs seperately, although side stand, number plate (not the HSRP, but a normal steel plate for ~60 bucks for temp. reg. no. :D) and foot rest were charged extra.

Congratulations on your new scooter!

How come you did not opt for the DLX variant? Better option right, with the front disc brake and CBS?

Thank you. Appreciate the response and hope the thread is kept live with booking details.

Haha. I was surprised too initially.

The Activa in any color here is available really. Just pay in cash and wait for 3 hours for them to clean, fit the necessary accessories, generate the T/R Number then create some more delay by running around the dealership and finally deliver the vehicle.

Thank you Sir. I am clueless to decode the VIN on a two wheeler.

There is a slip in every scooter with its MFD, Chassis and Engine number so decoding it wasn't an issue. :)

Only RVM's are standard, rest all are accessories. Honda is looting customers.

No Buddy. This is for the ladies at home and both wife and mom weren't comfortable and confident with the Disc setup. Had to settle for Standard variant.

I have tried couple of emergency maneuvers in the Standard variant and it was stable too. CBS is available in drum setup too.

I wanted the alloys more than the Disc brake but no luck.

Great initiative Anurag.

What about the mandatory helmets? Are they being given along with the scooter or you still need to buy them? Along with the accessories planned, also get the underbody anti rust coating too done considering that monsoons are at the door step.

Thank you Sir.

Since I had my LS2 helmet in hand the point wasn't raised by their quotation says, "Helmet must be bought at the showroom".

I'll ask them for it and see what they say. I need to get for Wifey anyway.

Should I get this at Honda?

Yes, if they do provide it. I don't know if 3M provides the same for the 2 wheelers. I remember buying the package from Honda dealer and came with 5 yrs validity with free inspection and top up once a year (preferably done before monsoons), don't recall the brand. I think it was Dinitrol, I will check and confirm.

Any plans of buying the extended warranty too?

My dealer offered to give one helmet and one round of teflon coating free if I bought the entire accessories pack (mud flaps, front + side/back + bumper guard, buzzer and teflon coating) worth 3.5k.

Instead, I got just the mud flaps and guard for 1.8k.

But no mandatory helmet purchase/sale.
