The most welcome update according to me is the bigger 13.4l metal fuel tank. Tank range boosted by a good 100km

Power figures remain the same. Basic comparison from the specs chart of the event and KTM official site India. Below are my observations.

1. Seat height is increased from 800 mm to 830 mm
2. GC increased from 170 mm to 185 mm
3. Front disc dia increased from 300 mm to 320 mm
4. Weight increased from 139 kg to 149 kg

That's bad! The old 390 was so nimble because of its low weight. This might hamper the brutal performance. Also ride by wire might make the power delivery more linear. Seems like the bike is more mature now. That's a good or bad thing depends from person to person.

Any idea when will the RCs based on this new Duke be launched? I just had a quick check on the India website and no Duke 200 is listed. Surprising!

Now that you mention it, I realise that there was no mention whatsoever of the 200 Duke at the EICMA event.
Not sure why; maybe because it isn't receiving any major updates (as revealed by the spy shots) ?

Another good thing is that they have chosen to stay with Metzelers, since the test mule doing rounds was spotted with Michelins Pilot Street.
Now all that remains to be seen is how well would Bajaj price it here in India.

Delicate?? Are they preparing for another round of rim cracking?

One thing which I was worried about, but has now been put to rest was whether the upgraded Duke 390 destined for India would have all the features of the bike that was showcased.

From this report from Overdrive -
"KTM has told OVERDRIVE exclusively today that there is only one version and that this 390 is a global model. India will get the ride-by-wire model as well."

Great to see KTM taking a different approach and treating bikers in India at par with the rest of the World.

One thing that I find strange is the brakes, the 2016 RC390 unveiled for international market few months back had 320mm Floating disc rotors. But the new duke seems to have a larger 320mm non floating disc of the same shape of the existing models 300mm. I've ridden a duke with floating rotors and the difference it makes to the braking feel and power is HUGE. Wish they had neglected this cost saving on brakes.

The new duke looks better on all fronts!
KTM is also claiming 3NM torque increase - hopefully that is lower down the range at < 3k rpm.
With the slight change in seating, it need to be seen if it continues to be upright or have they gone more agressive.
