Is the 4.25KWh available battery capacity or the total one? Generally the manufacturers will knock off top 10% and bottom 10% off the capacity to prolong the life of batteries. Audi actually does way more on their e-tron.

But if this is 4.25kWh useable capacity, then there is no way a bike is giving more than 110kms, anything more than 25km/KWh and I will be gouging my eyes out.
If it is total capacity, then this would be even lower.

May be they are drafting behind another bike doing 38 kmph on a smooth as glass road.

Ultraviolette Automotive has raised ₹30 crore investment as a part of its Series B funding led by TVS Motor Company.

The Ultraviolette F77 will first be rolled out next year with nationwide expansion planned in phases. TVS has already invested ₹5 crore in Ultraviolette in exchange for a 14.87% stake in the company back in 2017.

It actually depends on the drive cycle in consideration. For EVs, ARAI still specifies the Indian Drive Cycle (IDC) on which the given range is easily 30% greater than real world observations. The WMTC is a much closer to real world figures.

An example, the Nexon EV is homologated to 400km on a charge cycle all thanks to the IDC. But real world (commute + highway) usage is typically in the 280-300 km range.

Coming back to the F77, a 110 km on the IDC is doable, but expect real world usage to be in the 70-80 km range.

They should have put at least 6kWh in there. But that increases costs. The EV is anyways out of reach of the masses here. It's a thin line that EV makers have to balance their products on. Irrespective of the power, a compromise has to be struck between cost & range. Moreover, India is not a very forgiving market as far as pricing is concerned.

.
I think you mean Kona EV, nexon is rated 312, and people are getting 170 to 230, depending on the terrain and driving style.

So, any more info on the Ultraviolette F77? I seriously hope this is not some vapourware. TVS backing the company is the only reason I have some faith in Ultraviolette.

It's definitely not another Simple One, Ultraviolette have a few high profile backers, incl. the 369 garage.

Also the initial annual production volumes of 15k is realistic and test rides of the prototypes were given to multiple auto media organisations some time back.

I just hope they set a realistic price tag, the product looks really promising.

Good to see that F77 taking baby steps towards hitting the showrooms. Does their Mar-2022 launch seem realistic? I have couple of more questions. Hope some expert on this bike can answer these:

What is the booking price?
What will be the ex-showroom & on-road price (in Pune)?
What will be the real world riding range for this bike?
Since it has 3 removable batteries, can I get one or 2 spare batteries that I can carry along if I want to extend the range?

I am thinking of going for the FZS25 because that bike ticks all the right boxes for me. However I am in no hurry and ready to wait till Mar-2022 for the F77. My basic purpose behind going for a bike is to explore places and routes around Pune within a radius of 100 kms and then do the same routes on my bicycle.

Re: Ultraviolette F77 electric bike to be unveiled on November 13, 2019

The pic shows 86 kms with an image of a half empty battery on the top left, so that's like 160 kms range? Pretty decent then.

Not sure if this has been already shared in this or some other thread, but came across a good video on --> The Ultraviolette Startup Story – How Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan Built the F77. Quite interesting to watch how the story unfolded

Finally some updates from the Ultraviolette Team. It's almost ready for production. Looks really promising and the overall approach seems like Ather but for the Bike segment.
