Strange as the bike has only done about 3.5k kms. Should they be going bad so quickly?
That’s quite strange. It shouldn’t ideally - nevertheless if it’s all resolved, enjoy your ride

So this problem came back again and much worse this time around. The bike would run fine for about 10 minutes and then the engine would just die as soon as you initiated propulsion by engaging gear.
The bike would ride again if you let it "cool" for about an hour, but the problem would happen every time. It would start and rev normally in neutral.

After reading online and having the dealership check everything for a week, including all connections, spark plugs, sensors, etc., the problem has been diagnosed to a faulty ECU.

With a replacement ECU, the bike, as reported to me, has worked normally.

Problem? The ECU costs a whopping 50K!

I'm trying to get them to cover it as when the problem was first reported about a year ago, the bike was under warranty.
