Yes, the price definitely has gone northwards after abs was introduced. Did you mean you want to buy the Aprilia Race Edition?

I would suggest waiting till the festive season if of course you can wait till that long. Aprilia / Piaggio has been historically good at providing good discounts and offers during that time extending till the year end. It is one scooter which we cannot go wrong with.

Close to completing 2k kms on my Aprilia and the 3rd service is round the corner. Updates to follow.

Re: Ownership Report: My 2018 Aprilia SR 150

Done with the third service on my SR, next due in the month of July, feels like service was done just yesterday and its due again. Using it as my daily driver and loving every moment of it still. The total kilometres stand at 2218 kms as of today. The service bill came to rupees 387 and my monthly fuel bill hovers around 700 - 1000 which has been the usual costs associated with it. Invested in a jopatsu duster at the very beginning to take care of the daily cleaning regimen. Once the monsoon arrives I will need more than a duster for sure. The mileage has also been constant at 35 kmpl and a bit more, hope it increases after a few rounds of service cycles.

Participated in a track day event recently which allowed me to open up the throttle to the max. Have observed that the accelerator response has increased a little bit. The engine has also become smoother than it was at the beginning.

No niggles to report as of now. The only major incident was a screwdriver going through my rear tyre and exiting near the alloy. Needed 2 strips of a puncture repair kit to fill the hole. Per the service guys it will hold for now but if there is a second puncture a replacement is recommended. I have never seen objects other than smaller nails going through tyres. This was a first, was amazed at first when it was pulled out.

The SR was lying idle for almost a month in between when I had to go to the US for a work trip. Was worried if I should take out the battery etc. but no issues faced. I generally use the kick starter always, haven’t faced any cold start issues till date.

Posting some pictures from just when I was about to head out.

Re: Ownership Report: My 2018 Aprilia SR 150

4th service done with just a shade over 3K on the clock. I got five free services but due to the 3 month cycle it's happening pretty fast. No niggles so far and the scoot's behaving pretty well the only issues being a nut falling off from the rear mudguard which was replaced as part of the service. Someone also knocked off my SR 150 few days back at the Metro parking lot which I could presume since it was left on the side stand and I always use the main stand. On closer look the only damage I could find was a few scratches on the panel stickers.

I ride it almost every day as part of my office commute due to the convenience it offers at zipping through traffic (Friday and Weekends being Car Days for me). The traffic scene is deteriorating day by day with jams eating up a precious amount of time and the recent monsoon rains have introduced huge crater sized potholes. Taking out the car looks like a challenge more than ever.

Hi. Will be booking an SR150.

The showroom staff told me that the Aprilia App works only with the SR150 Carbon, and not with the RACE and the regular SR150.

As I was also considering the RACE/Regular SR150, I wanted to know whether the Aprilia App works in your case.

Thanks in advance.

Hey FINTAIL, with ABS added now the SR 150 would be a great choice, the race has pretty cool graphics now as well.

I have the iOS version of the app installed but features like the find my bike etc. works in conjunction with a Bluetooth device which comes pre configured on the carbon edition only. When I made the payment for my scooter the showroom folks actually took an additional sum from me for installing the Bluetooth device on my normal SR 150 but after waiting for around 4 months i asked for a refund. Am not sure how much helpful the Bluetooth enabled features would be but it sure is not as elaborate as the ones on the Ntorq.

Re: Ownership Report: My 2018 Aprilia SR 150

It has really been disheartening to see my Aprilia lying idle for most part of the days in a month. Reason: The addictive driving dynamics of the other vehicle in my stable, the EcoSport, have been behind the wheels of it more often than with the helmet on nowadays. This and due to the long series of holidays in between missed the 5th service schedule. The 3 month service schedule is a pain really, the time just flies.

Took a longish ride within the city confines and the ride (the handling more so) was refreshing as always. I say often that an auto tranny works best on a two wheeler and that adage works out for me in a very fine way. Completed the 5th service just as the new year started with the clock crossing the 4k mark. Costs have been the regular fare till now with only the oil amount being charged during the service centre visits.

Quick References:

Total kms at 5th service: 4028 kms
Service costs: Approx. 400 rs (5 completed)
Fuel Efficiency: 36 kmpl
Vehicle Age: 1 year 2 months
Fuel costs till now: 8700 rs
Niggles: Indicator switch was unresponsive for the left. Rectified during service
Tyres: One puncture at the rear, an screw went in one side and came out near the alloy chipping it and taking off some paint in the process. Took 3 strips to patch which has been holding good without any issues.

The build quality has been one my favourite aspects till now. No loose panels, screws or rattling even when the roads traversed haven’t been quite of the smooth kind.

Planning to skip the 3 month service schedule from the next time around and try a hand at self change of oil and other smaller checks. Will continue a 6 month schedule if need be.

I'm sailing in the same boat. My Aug 2017 Aprilia did just 8k kms till Dec 2018 and then I got another Italian Pocket Rocket, Abarth Punto home which reduced my ride time on Aprilia to less than 500 kms throughout 2019. However, its pretty fuss free ownership so far and I have stopped going to service center altogether after I diligently completed all the services for first 2 years.

Only saving grace is since I stopped using it altogether off lately, my wife started to use it ever so slightly more and the SR150 is close to 9k kms now. Your post kind of made me nostalgic and I'll take her out for a spin over this weekend

The distance you have to travel to get a PUC done. Longer the better.

Re: Ownership Report: My 2018 Aprilia SR 150

So one fine day I experience power loss on the way to office on my SR150 and the throttle just died few minutes later. Left it at a roadside mechanic to let him figure out if the problem can be rectified. Received a response in the negative so pushed it back home and hired a porter mini truck the next day to haul the scooter to an Aprilia service center. Post a full day of diagnosis and trying out various things I was told that the carburettor is a gonner and needs replacement, the damage to the pocket around 2.7k INR.

Didn’t receive any plausible reason why it could have been damaged. Regardless the scooter seems to be running fine now. Although I didn’t follow the 3 month service schedule it did go for servicing periodically and even the oil was being changed every 6 months, not sure if that attributed to anything.
