| ![]() A few things are interesting here: 1. I think Honda CB Shine sales figure (it's just Honda Shine now though) combines the Shine and SP 125 figures. Maybe they do so to project it as the largest selling 125cc bike in India? 2. The Honda H'ness and Hornet 2.0 is outselling the X-Blade! Quite interesting. Unicorn is still the king of Honda 160cc bikes in India. 3. The Hero Xtreme 160R has not sold a single unit since September, 2020? I find that very hard to believe. 4. The Bajaj Avenger 180 is discontinued now. So, its sales figure must be that of the Avenger 160. 5. Yamaha has only 4% share of the bike sales! It's a shame, given the time they had in our market. They should introduce a cheaper 150cc or even a 125cc motorcycle as soon as possible, else will find it difficult to survive. |

Infractions: 0/1 (5) | ![]() Feels very nice to see the XL moped doing good numbers. I see them used for all sorts of logistics apart form commuting. Such a deserving and thorough performer. |

| ![]() Thanks for the data. Dont we get data for electric 2 wheelers ? With petrol price rising consistently, thought they should start seeing a uptick. Range is the only problem that needs to be solved for the present prices. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks a4anurag for the thread with a complete statistics of the sales graphs of two wheelers on a regular basis. This territory is less thought of but nevertheless a very good barometer for the economy and for viewing sales figures as well as affordability of the mass market two wheelers for the desirous buyers. The Activa, Splendour and HF Deluxe continue to top the sales charts with the Honda Shine following. A few surprises include the uptick in the Yamaha FZ sales, the bike featuring at #19. Homegrown TVS with the XL Super Moped featuring at # 5, followed by the Jupiter sisters at # 6 and # 15, with the Apache at # 14 are doing well. They call the XL a "Super Moped". The Bajaj m 80 with a lower engine capacity was clubbed with the Kawasaki Bajaj KB 100 (and later RTZ/ 125) as a motorcycle. Hero Honda, Yamaha (Escorts), TVS Suzuki (formerly Ind Suzuki) and Kawasaki Bajaj were the then competitors. Here Bajaj gained figures by clubbing the m 80 as a motorcycle. So if an 80 cc step-through is a motorcycle, the TVS XL can be also classified as a motorcycle by the manufacturer! ![]() We had discussed about Bajaj most likely lowering the esteem of the brand Pulsar with the 125 cc badging by shooing away their "Discover" model name. But such a gamble seems to have paid off. The Pulsar 125 at # 7 is the best selling Bajaj now from the once scooter king. Their mass targeted models the Platina and CT 100 struggle to remain in the Top 20 though. Bajaj is laying more stress on its export markets these years for the mass market bikes that have been received well in some countries in Asia, Africa and South America. The Pulsar 150 stays put as the best selling in its class with the TVS Apache following and the Hero Glamour trailing both these. Suzuki has only one entry in the Top 20 at # 8 with the Access, while the RE Classic at # 10 is the bread and butter for the Eicher two wheeler maker. Triumph sales figures are appalling and a cause for concern. With their tie-up with Bajaj in the news, nothing seems to have changed. Last edited by Sheel : 24th February 2021 at 18:01. | ![]() Pulsar 125 has took away the sales from Pulsar 150, however their combined average monthly sales seems to be higher than the average monthly standalone sales of Pulsar 150. Pulsar 150 used to sell in an average of 50K-65K per month, now the combination of 125 and 150 are selling at an average of 70K-75K. Not sure though to call it as a success for Bajaj. Yamaha has done well with both R15 and MT-15 and happy to see these twins performing well. |
