No wonder yamaha is almost non existent in sales.
I feel you man, they are very unprofessional and incompetent . I bought an R15 V4 from them and the bike had multiple niggles right after every service I did from them in order to maintain the factory warranty. I advise you not to buy a Yamaha product if you don't have a competent mechanic near your home.

Replaced my 15 year old scooter with Fascino 125

I am a college student and I live in Jaipur with my family. We own an Access 125cc 2008 model which has done approx. 40,000 kms till date. We bought an Activa 110cc Special Edition in 2020 for daily needs uses mostly for bringing groceries from nearby market. The activa was so fuel inefficient that we used to top it up every week despite the fact that we don’t use scooter that much still this issue remained. The dealer was our known he told us that the fuel tank is of 5Ltr Capacity out of which 2ltr remained in the reserve, he also suggested to wait till 1st service he assured us that if the problem persisted he will definitely help us by hook or by crook. My father also did not liked the accelerati on of the scooter , even I didn’t liked it as ACTIVA is the most common scooter in INDIA 4 out of 5 person own an Activa. Before taking to the 2nd service my father told me to ask uncle (dealer) for the resale value of the scooter. We asked the broker and DAMN! He literally gave a good value. We decided to sell the scooter ASAP. We sold it 2-3 days later, it had completed 720Kms and we sold it September 2021.

THE HUNT FOR NEW SCOOTER:-
We were looking for new Scooter and we didn’t hurried as the old Access 125 was running smoothly and it didn’t had issues also the need of 2 wheeler was not prominent, we were looking to buy an Ather or any other good electric scooter . Coincidently my close friend bought an Ather 450x for daily commutes, we used to roam after the coaching on it. Day-by-Day it started to give problems such as sudden shut down of system, Brake noise, Weak body, and degradation of battery resulting in lower range (within 6 months of ownership) although it was fixed later by updating software and internal wires, the second major reason of cutting out of list was the approach of dealership, It was almost 8-9kms away from my area. We also test drove the Ola but we didn’t liked it. My father has a dealership of Okaya EV we also test rode that but I did not liked it. Later we dropped the plan to switch to an ev as our running was not that much to consider the switch.
In the end of 2023 we realized the need of a new scooter as the access wasn’t sufficient to meet the needs, we were afraid to take it even 8-10kms away as one day while riding its transmission belt got broken in midway.
We started to search, we went to Suzuki dealership to take a look at new Access 125cc model, hahaha! Yes we went because of the reliability and the strong fiber body. We also went to take a look at NTORQ 125, it was a great scooter. However the issues of less mileage remained unchanged in the Ntorq. We also saw Burgman, but my mother didn’t liked it as she was the one who will be driving the scooter most of the time. We then went to Yamaha Dealership to take a look at RayZR , my mother didn’t liked the design as it was sporty and youth oriented design, adjacent to the RayZR she found a good looking Fascino 125 S Matt black edition which she loved at first sight. She test drove both the scooter and obviously she chose the Fascino 125cc. We enquired about the price, it was going to almost 1.20 lakhs on road Jaipur as the main dealership of Akar Yamaha M.I road was charging unnecessarily. They charged us logistic cost, accessories, ceramic coating and what not. We enquired through someone known in the dealership and they recommended us to buy from different showroom of the same firm (i.e. Akar Yamaha) somewhere in the outskirts, they offered us a good price of almost 5k difference. We then finalized and paid the amount.

THE EXPERIENCE:-
Overall the experience was below average of the dealership as they were least interested in selling any kind of scooter. We opted for home delivery as the showroom was quite far. The Salesman came and delivered the scooter. When I asked for the setup of the Yamaha Connect app, first he hesitated to set up then when I forced him. He somehow agreed and then made us install the different app of Yamaha Connect. There was also some kind of noise coming from rear disc, which on search found that it was due to the water on road (it was a rainy day), the professional was untrained. Even after 15 days of purchase there was no update of HSRP which was certainly the most important thing. After intensive calls we found that dealer has not completed the process of HSRP order. It was after 25 days, I received a call from Dealer saying that your service is due. Me who was full of frustration screamed on them regarding the HSRP. There was also no sign of R.C. , it was not even displaying on mParivahan. We also got to know that from last 6 months government is not providing those smart R.C. Cards for new vehicles all the R.C.’s will be sent through the registered mobile number in digitalized form. In the Service there was no major thing as it had only done 147kms , they did a checkup tightened up the brakes , installed the correct app to connect it, installed the mat which I ordered through amazon as the dealer was charging it very high and gave it a shower.

No doubt this answers my question of “Why Yamaha being an Global brand has very low sales in India”
No matter how well their product is engineered , their after sales still lacks behind.
