Even a custom bike was showcased in Goodwood Festival of Speed made by David Gwyther of Death Spray Custom.

The580cc bike is a stunning homage to the Dakar Rally machines of the 1980s and 1990s.

Re: Rumour: Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to launch in Q4 2024

Hope RE is not stupid enough to muddle their product line with a 650 Himalayan.

Especially with the 650 Interceptor scrambler sightings, I think there's no need to have an ADV on that platform. They both will have the same use case of tourer with some boingy suspension.

Unless RE is pivoting to become the Lego of motorcycles.

Re: Rumour: Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to launch in Q4 2024

Thrilled to hear the RE Himmy 650 coming through. Waited for more than a year to see some spy shot! Being in Chennai, I invariably see atleast 1 RE test rider wading through the busy morning city traffic everyday.

Since I never saw this until yesterday, I thought they shelved it. Glad its ON!!! Go go RE

NX500, Versys 650 may get overlooked by new riders who want to get into Adv riding. Experienced folks may steer clear of it I guess. Two things were well documented about it.
Twin disc front brakes & USD forks. Noiceee

Re: Rumour: Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to launch in Q4 2024

It's a confusing product when they have the 450 in the product lineup. Power to weight ratio wise, it'll be in the same ballpark as the 450 or even worse. It'll be worse than the already kind of heavy 450, off-road. Hope the engine is bigger or has more poke to distinguish it from the 450 Himmy. The only USP is the refinement and noise.

That's the reason i didn't switch from OG Carburetor 411 Himalayan to 450.

As a highway cruiser I want is suspension of Himalayan with smoothness of Parallel Twin and Sound/Noise of Vtwin .

There is demand for such bike in international markets too.

Against the backdrop of the smaller lighter engined Himalayans snapping their chassis. Across generations and versions and engines.

I literally am speechless.

Re: Rumour: Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to launch in Q4 2024

At best, this will be a heavy highway focused tourer. Something like Versys 650. I am sure RE will find enough takers as they do with any of their bikes.

Re: Rumour: Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to launch in Q4 2024

It would be great if RE offers their 650CC engines at various state of tunes. Some cue can be taken from the Triumph's Modern Classic lineup. Triumph has 8 Motorcycles which shares the 900cc / 1200cc, but at various states of tunes. Although having more models with the same engine will give more choice to buyers, the lineup is really starting to be confusing. They have the Continental GT, Interceptor, Shotgun and Super Meteor. And now the Classic 650, Interceptor Bear, Scrambler 650 and Himalayan 650.

They should start offering motorcycles with 865cc big bore right from the factory and enter the higher segment. They should declutter their lineup. They keep releasing a new motorcycle every 3 months and that is so damn confusing even for an Enfield aficionado.

Re: Rumour: Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to launch in Q4 2024

Clear spyshots of the Himalayan 650 under testing has emerged from southern Europe.

Source- https://www.mcnews.com.au/royal-enfi...ing-in-europe/

Looks like it will 'sport'-
  • The familiar parallel twin cylinder air cooled motor
  • Adjustable USD forks
  • A new rectangular console
  • Dual setup braking at the front
  • 19 inch front wheel? The 650 could be more tourer than the 450.
  • More wind protection and plastics at the front

Very Husqvarna Norden like styling
Apparently it has fully adjustable front forks. The mule can be seen with twin rotors at the front

Visually the engine looks slightly different.
The lower/black portion of the block looks slightly taller as compared to the current 650's. I feel the fins are a bit smaller. There is definitely a larger oil cooler as well. So we can safely assume its a larger displacement motor.

Also there is that new frame holding up the engine.

Exciting time ahead indeed

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 spotted testing in Southern Europe

This looks fantastic, if RE does the suspension setup as good the H450 then they have a winner at hand, this engine is perfect for the adv setup. RE please give the tubeless wheels as option from the launch date. Also do i see a new all digital instrument cluster ?

Has a very Norden 901 inspired look to it. Wonder how they are going to keep the weight in check with that heavy air cooled lump. Some of the 650 platforms have already hit 240+ kgs. It can end up being a heavyweight like the old Super Tenere and they need to go above the 50-55hp mark to keep it interesting.

The doesn't look like it'll be a 650. My guess is it's a new 750 that could make roughly 55hp like you said.

Dual discs in the front is how they're going separate the 750 class from the 650 class. The recently spied Interceptor and Continental GT with dual discs also have a similarly sized engine as this new Himalayan.

Yes, I'm aware of the 750/850 rumor. I was implying that the 650s are already quite porky and this new bigger motor with all the ADV bells and whistles like bashplate, full bodywork, frame strengthening, & dual disc setup is going to nudge 240kgs at least.
