Hero Honda wants to take us back to <100cc bikes. No way!

The pics below are not scoop pics, but in my mind, am almost sure HH wants us to be seen riding bikes like these.

Y HH wants to go back. They should rather come out with more powerfull bikes like 300cc or 400cc bikes and competition to the next level.

how about 'lean'der NXG. .

those bikes....errr..... mopeds would be for rural markets.
Quote:
“Domestically, the focus should be on developing and selling appropriate products for the large population of the country. The products could include cost-effective small carriers, strong rugged vehicles for the rural market and $300-350 motorcycles.”
I think the munjals felt embarressed to use the word 'moped' instead they used the term 'vehicle' (technically isnt a moped a vehicle??? )
Quote:
“We are evaluating the entire scenario and a possible $300-350 vehicle is on our radar. It is in the broad spectrum of our work. Although there is nothing on the drawing board yet, we are seriously looking at it.”
I have seen lot of men in villages use cycles till date, i think that is what the munjals want to target.

Also i think they might be aiming at exports to developing contries, if you see that Mr. Pavan Kumar Munjal mentioning $ rather than Rupees. (or may be its in ishtyle)

raj.

Slap on "cool" graphics, 130/100W bulb in the lamp, fake disc brake and its good to go.

Not a good move..

this might prove to be a bad thing for indian roads. these bikes will have the smallest capacity engines with the least output and worse handling. Imagine the numbers that it might sell in and the traffic chaos that comes with it. Guys on these puny bikes will CRAWL at 30-40 kmph on our roads!! Read the article by Sirish Chandran in Overdrive (July).

So why don't you sell your car to help ease the congestion - rather than
hoping that others not able to afford a vehicle will help ease it?
