I think some local solutions should work for handlebar riser.

Maybe you can try such options. Also you can move the mirrors front and back by loosening them on handlebar.

Good to see our own Indian brands doing such great work. I Feel the contribution made by TVS and Bajaj to the 2 wheeler segment is just like what M&M and Tata doing to Indian 4 wheeler world, simply revolutionizing the segment with their R&D.

It doesn't fit. The holes in the Ronin top yoke are a little further apart than needed for the riser. I was able to raise the handlebar ends slightly by rotating the handlebar clockwise when viewed from the right. After which rotating the levers -- including the mirrors -- was easy. I did not rotate the switch and throttle assemblies

Apparently the Ronin designers decided to do many things differently. I want to change the mirrors for visually simpler models. I've done that on other bikes but so far I have not found any that would fit. Same for the handlebars. I've raised them on other bikes by changing to a handlebar for another bike. Not possible on the Ronin because the handlebar is greater diameter in the centre and I have found no higher bars like that. Same for the headlight. The way it is attached is different from any other bike I have seen

You have literally echoed my thoughts and feelings!
I too am 41, riding Activa for a few years now, with a herniated disc and looking forward to get back on saddle for nothing more than a few kilometres every week.

TVS Ronin is currently very high on my wish list and hopefully will get one before March end this year. If only wishes were horses that is!

All best for your riding journey!

Enduring was the every ride, hopes in the air and heart with that pride.

I could map the universe with every gear, and stride the same then without any fear.
Destination or no destination, the spirit was always there.

This one is dedicated to my last motorcycle 'Suzuki Fiero F2' that I rode for 6 years and last in 2010. It has been 13 years since then and I have been struggling with my fear to ride those beautiful two legged machines again, had it not been for my back issues. I turned 41 last year yeah.

So finally, I gathered courage (my appreciation to my fellow t-bhpians here) and thought why not give one more chance to yet another love affair and so comes my new love I call the 'T-Rex'. My new TVS Ronin TD.

Initial Impressions:

What a color & what a sound,
with beastly presence yet manners so profound.
I still ride like a king though my kingdom might be released,
Don't worry the beast won't harm you, it's me who is unleashed.

To be continued..

Coming soon with the Street Stance, Ride Experience and Ownership Report.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Keep Riding, Keep Smiling.
Initial Ownership Report (And some important accessory updates)

As usual I have been a little busy in getting the T-Rex accessorize.

Riding Experience till now:
  1. Rides perfectly well, I usually am not required to go below 3rd gear that can be maintained for speed not below 18 kmph.
  2. Pillion Riders have given full marks for their seat comfort and I am also happy with my seat comfort as a rider.
  3. Still not completely happy with the right side rear view mirror coverage of the rear traffic (will check for a replacement in aftermarket solutions).
  4. BTW, Bajaj Avenger's mirrors unfortunately are not a direct fit.
  5. Haven't driven the beast for more than 50 kmph due to the Running In period constraints so cannot comment about the high revv range performance.
  6. Rear suspensions are a bit on the stiffer side but as per the service technician they should be sorted out soon (just as I experienced during the TD).
  7. Everyone around me including myself loves the sound of the beast when it starts.
  8. While running, the engine note is very smooth and buttery.
  9. Rear braking needs a little effort in case that is the only one you wish to use but I use both the brakes so no issues till now.
  10. Haven't tested the RAIN mode yet.
  11. The TVS application is amazingly intuitive and comes with a lot of information and analytics to help one ride better.
  12. The navigation on the screen is OK and I usually rely on Google maps.
  13. T-Rex is heavy so one needs to be aware when you are standing with the bike and its not on any stand (any little push left or right and you are prepared for a fall again all depends upon your weight and stamina to control this thing).
  14. Turning radius, I agree, is on a broader side and sometimes you need to steer multiple times to turn properly (this in case of less space available).
  15. Turning radius to me hasn't been much of an issue till now.
  16. The high beam can make any rider coming from the front blind and the horn can make any one deaf (if used continuously).
  17. I love the hazard lights while driving the beast (gives a feeling of VIP movement with that 'T' light shining along with the hazard light).
  18. This motorcycle is capable of picking up at any speed and gear, again intended for relaxed cruising and not for racers (I would not recommend anyone racing with this bike not due to it's stance but due to the fact that it is not intended for the same).
  19. I have been checking the Engine heat, starts from 34 degree Celsius and goes to 84 degree Celsius (checked with max 24 kms at a stretch with max speed of 50 kmph).
  20. You CANNOT change the modes (URBAN - RAIN and vice versa) while throttling.
  21. False neutral issues are there but I would say 1 in every 1000 strides.
  22. Gear shifting is butter smooth (Slipper Assist Clutch is a boon)
  23. Indicator Switch is like a dead man's hand.

Accessories

Let the below pictures explain them.

The much awaited mobile holder (had to return 4 before I finally fixed this one). Fortunately found the diameter on the handle to fix it otherwise it is very difficult to fix any mobile holder on Ronin due to its thicker or larger handle diameter. The unit looks well built.
TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions-mobile-holder.jpeg

Amazon Link for the same: https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B09...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also seen is another accessory with the above mobile holder that can be directly fixed on the lower handle only if one can procure a larger upper bolt to fix the unit.
TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions-mobileholderaccessory.jpeg

The USB unit (Fixed from the showroom, available with TVS, the flip case is very well built and gives confidence that the water will not seep in)
TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions-usbport.jpeg

The loneranger saddle bag (Fixed it on otherwise non usable Saaree Guard, also forfeited the same with some cable ties on the top, works perfectly, it is waterproof as well). (https://openroad.in/product/lone-ran...e-side-single/)

Re: TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions

Accessories and First Service Update for my Ronin [T-Rex at 800 kms]

Added much better rear view mirrors (Uno Minda provides some good quality products).

TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions-20230311_134156.jpg

Also adjusted the phone mount a little lower on the handle using a crown bolt.

TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions-20230311_134048.jpg

The motorcycle was anyway running smoothly however it feels even more refined after the first service. I saw at least 8 different Ronins including mine.

The service included oil change, chain lubrication and battery terminals cleaning. T-Rex after a professional service and a good clean shower.

My only pending issue now is the seat that hurts after a trip of about 50 kms. I can get that adjusted as well using a touring foam that I found out at a seat cover shop but the original needs to be removed. However, I am not ready to tamper the original one so would wait for few more trips before I am actually left with no option but to get the seat adjusted.

Otherwise, the riding experience has been great till now.

BTW, For touring, the Loneranger saddle bag that I had shared in my earlier post and that I have mounted on the Saree guard works very efficiently and can easily take 5-8 kgs of load, however make sure that the bag is properly tied using the cable ties.

Happy Riding and Safe driving!

Best Regards,
Achint

Re: TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions

It's a great bike, wonder why it is hardly selling? Why TVS is not disclosing it's sales figures? Has it gone the CB300F way? Honda is dicounting it massively and....not disclosing it's sales figures!

Re: TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions

Yes, even I could not find the sales figures of Ronin over the internet and I understand that a potential and educated buyer would do homework using maximum resources before making the purchase decision.

My suggestion to any such potential buyer is to take extensive TD of Ronin, understand its characteristics and their weight and capacity to handle the motorcycle before making the final purchase decision.

As an owner of one since last 800 odd kms and last 3 months (First service completed at 750 kms), I can say that this motorcycle is for those who love relaxed rides. This doesn't in anyway means that Ronin cannot satisfy enthusiasts. But if you are among those who are not in a hurry to reach their destinations and enjoy your surroundings while riding and need to get the best combination of power plus fuel efficiency (yeah fuel efficiency of my Ronin [T-Rex] is at least 30% better than my 150cc Activa), then you can definitely consider Ronin. Those youtube reviews that are flooded these days are mostly earning revenues for the respective channels and should not be the only decisive factor for any purchase decisions.

I would love to answer any queries regarding Ronin's ownership so feel free to DM me.

Ride safe, Ride well!

Best Regards,
Achint

Re: TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions

I am in a fix re the stock handlebar. It is of varying thickness, can someone clarify whether an aftermarket handlebar of standard 22mm thickness be fitted? I remember reading somewhere that because of the weird thickness the clamps holding the handlebars will not hold any other handle.
I mount a lot of accessories like phone mount, Aux light switch, flasher switch etc hence a standard diametre handlebar is needed. Thanks.

Very true. None of the handlebar risers available in market work. I am in the process of getting a custom one made.

Re: TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions

After TD of multiple bikes in this segment, my friend finds the Ronin impressed him the most as a package, he is worried about E20 compliance though. Showroom staff don't seem to have exact info on when they will start receiving the upgraded engine. Any info would be of great help to him.

Re: TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions

My Ronin (bought in August 2022, 2500km on odo) starting developing issues. During the ride, the side stand indicator was showing up and the bike stopped a couple of times one fine day. Next day, there were more weirder issues (bike accelerating, changing gears on its own in the digital meter followed by the bike stopping) coming up. Bike did not start for 5 minutes in each instance and after that, I was able to start.

Gave to Service center (Landmark TVS, Gachibowli, Hyderabad). They initially diagnosed the issue as side stand sensor and mentioned they need to replace it. They said they do not have stock and need to get it from somewhere. I was asked to come yesterday and pick up the bike, since the issue is sorted out.

After I went there, they say that even after replacing the sensor, the issue is continuing and now they need to check the whole wiring and it will take a couple of days more. This whole incident has been a little disturbing, to say the least.

Re: TVS Ronin Review & Initial Impressions

My woes with my bike continue with seemingly no resolution in sight. This is the Whatsapp I sent to the service manager at TVS Landmark at Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
=========================
Dear Nagaraj garu, I am the owner of Ronin ______. On 10th July, I have handed over my Ronin to TVS Landmark Service Center Gachibowli, with the complaint that the bike is suddenly stopping in the middle of the road and is not restarting immediately. The issues I faced are:
1. bike suddenly going into Neutral while riding. Starting only after 15 minutes. This happened twice.
2. Bike changing gears on its own. This happened once.

When I brought to the service center, I was told that this could be a side stand sensor issue and there may be a need to check it out.

After a week and a number of phone calls, I was then informed that it does not look like a side stand sensor issue and the issue could be with wiring. After another week, I was told that the issue is with ECU and stock should be brought from Central office and indent has been raised. I was asked to send the proof of my purchase, which I did. It was confirmed that the bike is under warranty.

Later, I was informed that the issue is with both ECU and wiring and both are getting replaced.

Finally, after multiple follow-ups, I was handed over the bike on 11th August, i.e., after a month of being in service center. The acknowledgement given on 10th July was taken back and I was not given any paper showing the repairs made to the bike.

When I ride the bike now, I find that the:
1. The ignition lock is continuously being displayed. As per the Owner's manual, if this is happening, then it indicates an issue and I should give the bike to service center.
2. The beat of the bike has changed. It does not sound like old anymore.

I do not understand how the bike was handed over to me mentioning that it is working, when the malfunction ignition lock is continuously being shown as On.

Please let me know what should I do next.

The 2 service advisors I have dealt with are Prabhu Kanneganti and Raj Kumar.

I find the whole service with Landmark TVS is absolutely*below*average.
========================

Can some member here direct me to an escalation point in TVS with whom I can communicate.
