All CKD models have Silver USD Showa forks and silver colour shrouds and headlight bezel
All BS6 vehicles have gold USD forks and black shrouds and headlight bezel
This is the most simple way to identify
I'll ask about in the group.. please DM me and share your email/ phone number
CKD was stopped I think once BS6 norms were enforced

Re: 2023 Honda CB300R launched at Rs 2.40 lakh

So I've previously owned a Unicorn dazzler from 2011 to 2019. Bike was serving me pretty well but since the usage had dropped significantly after adding a Maruti Ignis to my garage in 2018, I felt it was time to bid adieu to the bike. However, off late the itch to awaken the biker within me has started to bite again all thanks to my close friend who keeps nudging me every now and then. He has 2 REs here in Pune (Interceptor 650 and classic 350) and 2-3 bikes at his hometown in Uttarakhand. He keeps telling me that he would love to have me as a riding buddy for his Sunday rides. Hence, test drove the CB300R yesterday and here are my observations after a relatively short test ride in the bylanes of Boat Club Road, Pune.
1. Being 5'11 with a lean physique, I felt the bike complementing my personality. Found the seat height to be just perfect and cushioning was comfortable as well. Even filtering through city traffic will be pretty easy.
2. Smoothness of the engine was decent. Probably due for a service (~9.3k kms on odo of the test ride bike) but gear shifts were buttery smooth both up as well as down. After a long experience with the Unicorn, refinement was quite relatable.
3. Power delivery was pretty linear. Couldn't rev above 5k rpm since I was riding in the bylanes.
4. Instrument cluster has all the necessary information and the brightness was adequate even in the peak afternoon.
5. Gear shift and clutch pedals need to be extended outside slightly as I found them too close to the
engine block.
6. Position of the indicator and horn switch have been swapped and may take some time getting used to.

Given that the bike will be mostly used for Sunday rides with probably some short city commutes, I'm in a slight dilemma whether I should go for this one or consider the Speed 400. Although I'm in no hurry to get the bike I'd love to hear your valuable suggestions. CB300 R is costing ~2.93 lacs on road Pune as per quotation from dealer and delivery time as per sales guy is around 20 days post booking. Will definitely test ride the Speed 400 as well once the Triumph dealer in Viman Nagar is open as it's closer to my house.

Or maybe, like its bigger siblings, it can source the engine from CBR250RR (with due tuning) and differentiate itself from 300F with a 250cc parallel twin !
Even for 60-80K premium over current CB300R price that would be interesting, isn't it ?
(unless ofcourse, practically, the current single cylinder is as good)

Hey, I’m interested too in your offer to look for pre-loved examples in bengaluru. Once I figure out how to dm here, will do🥲

I am part of the owners WhatsApp group where the BS6 owners and older BS4 owners are present and the BS6 machine being heavily localized lacks quality many many issues from suspension bottoming out, rim bends at every pothole, the meter being damaged due to moisture etc etc. lack of parts seems to be biggest grouse (due to volumes ofcourse)
Does anyone know if it is possible to source and fit the Showa SFF forks used in the international model from the showroom?

About the rim bends, how long did people have to wait for parts? Honda Bigwing told me that parts are fairly expensive in case of a crash as they mentioned that they have to be imported from Thailand.

2 Plus months, at times they also had defective tires.
The experience with the new machine is fairly complicated. BS4 machines Honda imported as CKD are fairly fuss free especially if well maintained

Re: 2023 Honda CB300R launched at Rs 2.40 lakh

Sagar's review
It is a shame that Honda still won't lend bikes to proper reviewers like him when we see so many vloggers (both good and bad) put out videos of this bike. What is really disheartening to see is that unmentioned comparison between this and the Speed 400 given their similar performance and vibrations up to 100kmph. If he sees this as a Duke 250 rival and not for the Speed 400, then I guess it means the Speed is implicitly better.

Quality Issues with My New Honda CB 300R

I bought my Honda CB 300R last week from Pune Big Wing East. Ever since the start, I've noticed a few problems with it. So far, the bike has clocked 300 kms. Nothing has been changed on the bike (all stock) and I've followed the user manual's instructions on proper engine, brakes, and tire break-in. The bike has not been washed or cleaned at all, and definitely not used by anyone else but me.

I've listed the issues below, and I hope that Honda really takes their quality checks seriously:

1. The handlebar is bent, or the fork is out.

While riding in a straight line, the bike leans to the left on its own. Even if I completely let go of the handlebar, the bike leans to the left immediately.

While riding in traffic for more than five minutes, my left hand begins to hurt due to this imbalance.

2. Loud Chain Noise

The chain started to make a sound within the first 200 kms. It sounds like it's brushing against something each time I drop a gear.

3. Defective RHS RVM

The bike was given to me with a defective RHS RVM. The mirror on the right is shaped like a left-hand side mirror, i.e. it is inverted. I've included a picture of this below. The first picture is from my bike with the inverted RHS RVM and the second picture is of my friend's bike who bought the bike with me. My question is, how in the world did this get through quality checks or even past the dealer?

I will be taking the bike to the dealer at the end of the week to see what solutions can be offered, but I'm looking forward to getting some guidance on these issues from fellow members.

I love Honda and have owned a Honda Unicorn (CB150) since 2006. The bike has done more than 1,50,000 kms and that in itself is a testament to Honda. That said, has Honda's quality gone down since? Is it worth investing Rs. 3,00,000 on a bike that may or may not be in perfect condition? Or did I just get a lemon?

It is eerily similar to what I faced in my long test ride https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motor...ml#post5685996 (Why is Honda struggling in the motorcycle segment in India?) . Really is unfortunate considering these are things you cannot identify in a PDI without putting miles on the odo.

Check your tyre pressures. I've found that my bike tends to tip in quite suddenly and goes into tank slapper mode quite easily on bumps (taking them both in a straight line as well as during lean) with low pressure. Hope its an easy fix.

Thank you for the advice. I've filled up the tyres to the recommended 29 psi. I've noticed the wobble and it going into the tank slapper mode as well. Quite disheartening to say the least. I've also emailed HMSI to see how they propose to address these issues. I will keep our fellow BHPians posted.

Just clarifying that this low tyre pressure tank slapper behaviour is on my hunter 350, not CB300R, and I don't daily or ride a CB300R.

@shokedm
I also own a CB300R and from Pune only.

I would advice you to visit service center and ask for mirror replacement.
For Chain noise you should ask for chain lube at the service centre only.

First of all, congratulations on your new bike, I have recently bought Vstrom 250 and face this same issue. Gave it to service center and they corrected the fork on lathe machine, now it does not pull to the left but i still have pain on my right arm I fear it is a bent handlebar.

Combining your both issues I suggest you visit the service station as soon as possible because your problem looks like rear wheel alignment problem which is an easy 5 min fix.

Re: Quality Issues with My New Honda CB 300R

Sorry to hear about your biKe.
I also own a CB300R Dec 2022 model.
I have never been a Honda fan, but this bike just was right fit to my usage.146kg weight being the deciding factor
1st ₹3.2 lakhs OTR chennai was a lot compared to competition
2ndly the service experience is not so good
3rd the new bike FR tire was almost a year old and was off its shelf life.
I had a huge battle with MRF to get it replaced under warranty
Then came the failure of the Tata Green Battery in 6th month service.

Finally there was the Recall in which the crankcase was replaced for reasons unknown as my bike didn't have any leak.
But post crankcase replacement there was leakage due to ill mounted oil filter casing by service personnel

The RVM have started shedding the mirror coating... But now I am living with the bike as it doesn't disappoint on performance
Never expected such a brand selling from exclusiveshowrooms would sell such a defective bike.
Now with ₹40K reduced on the exshowroom for 2024, I feel like asking Honda for a refund.
I still didnt find right accessories for this bike till now.
