Congratulations Veelubhai!

Print the number on the front mudguard that would be aesthetically better than if done on the visor. Regarding Autocop security system i would say don't go for it if it involves cutting or splicing of wires, remember your bike is an EFI and you don't want to screw up the electronics. Better invest in a good quality disk lock.

And please don't put big fat tyres for the sake of looks. The Zappers that come on this bike are of a special compound.

Yeah Rossi does ride a Yamaha. To understand Rossi you should've seen the his very first race on the inferior Yamaha against the much superior Honda just after he defected from Honda to Yamaha. He took the pole in that race and it was Yamaha's first podium finish since eons. Pure rider skills... nothing else.

congrats pal.

I too have the opinion as Sankar. Also saw an interview on TV where they had asked the designer/project head of R15; question asked where why smaller tyres, why 150cc etc.

Hope they bring in more color options in future.

Thank you JK ,Kutlee,Iron wold and Shankar - Yeah , Iam aware of those special compound tyres and people who rode it says that it sticks like a glue to the road. The tyre is in a rather low profile though [100/80 R17] .Looks like the security system is out of question now.Messing up with the electronics is last thing I want to happen..

JK and Shankar, any clue about the cops in Kerala. I mean wether there will be an issue if I get the number printed on to the front mud guard?

Iron Wolf - Yeah ! will make sure I get the saari guard removed.

Kutlee - I think Iam the first person on the our forum but there are 3 or so R 1-5's in Xbhp.

that's a neiche. You are the first to own R-15 yaar. Appreciate the guts. I always loved the Yam engine and gearbox. It's a benchmark. I think you should go for a mechanical lock as well as electronic one. I have seen bikes with autocops. Shouldn't be a problem i guess. Check it out. I suggest you start your own thread one you get the bike.

Print the number on the front mud guard. I do not think it is a problem as long as it is in readable font, common in bangalore.

Yes Kutlee , with the launch of the R 1 5, a new segment is created. Will start a new Ownership thread once I get my hands on it.

PatienceWins - Looks like I will be doing that but just want to make sure that removing the lisc. plate from the visor doesn't leave any screws or stuffs.

Technically, going by the rule book, the registration number when displayed should adhere to the dimensions described in the rule book. And registration numbers on the mudguard would never comply.

But i don't think you will have to worry about it as most licence plates violate this and cops in general turn a blind eye towards it. To be safe make sure that you get it printed in the largest font size that would fit on the mudguard and also use a clear & most legible font for the letters and the numbers, stay away from fancy fonts.

Shankar, Thanks for your advice.will keep it in mind. The yamaha R 15 manual says to keep the Revv's below 6K rpm during the running-in.But IAm afraid wether this is a bit high.
