Huh??? And why would you want to do that??

P.S. Waise, a nice place to install it would be under the fuel tank, right near the fuel line leading into the engine!

For kicks. To light a cigarette. And for many other possibly useful things, like a puncture repair kit, for example..

Edit: I was thinking more along the lines of possible spark plug spare, just in case ;-)

Hehehe.. yeah, it will, but I've heard that you get kits that come for bikes, that you can install under the seat. One wire to the battery, the other to earth it, to the bike body... as of now, I'm just asking out of curiousity (I take my zippo everywhere I go), but maybe in the future, I might consider it...

You can install the cigarette lighter! If the yezdi side box is quickly open able then do it inside the box, it'll give it weather protection as well.

Provide a separate fuse for the cig lighter because it tends to draw a good current from the battery. Use thicker cables for the lighter. Use a bajaj rubber plug to seal the lighter when not in use.

If you are the sort who tours on a bike then the uses of a cig lighter is many. Not just to light a cigarette.

Try any shop in JC road. I have one, but it is not permanently fixed to the bike. I wire it to the battery and ground to run my air pump when required. Cost me about Rs.125 for the lighter kit.

Cheers,

Rajan

Yeah, I have plans to take the bike places. I was thinking about it - I could use it to charge my iPhone, fix a puncture (you get these nifty puncture repair kits that work on 6v batteries, made for bikes), light my ciggys, and additionally as a torch/emergency lighting point in case of a night breakdown or some such thing...
Thanks Sankar!

else your neighbourhood car parts guy will definitely have one.

you can also use this as a port to charge the battery from an external charger if your battery runs down

I don't get how to do that... reverse the wires...? attach the lighter to a battery directly, and then plug it into its holster? All kinds of whack-job ideas are popping into my head.. aaaahh!

Cigarette lighter for cars

Hi All,

I went to GP Road in chennai to get a Cigarette lighter for my car.

The Guy over there told that available cigarette lighters in the market are not up to the standards

Could fuse the electrical system and even worse thing can happen.

can anyone suggest me for good quality cigarette lighter.

Absolutely correct, it fused the electrical system of my car in the next day of installation (I dont smoke but was showing a demo to a friend in my new car )

Never ever used the lighter again...
