I own a Unicorn from past 2 years and i'am enjoying the ride. I feel it is the right buy. But you also have to keep these in your radar while finalizing like Bajaj Pulsar/Honda Hunk/Honda CBZ/TVS apache. Why I'am informing this is I had a pretty bad experience with the dealership in Bangalore during my servicing. My suggestion is please check this out in Cochin and take a plunge.

well okay the price of new alloy wheel version unicorn in Hyderabad onroad is around 64000+or-1000 bucks,

the accessories are not included, you will need to buy the leg guard, engine guard, the saree guard, and some others like the handle grips and seat cover etc!

Priyank ! Unicorn is a nice ride, I owned for almost 2 years before selling it off to an other pal as i was hardly using it and purchased it for about 57K i suppose and with alloy wheels and all it might surely be around 60K to 63K, however as many others pointed out you can opt out of the several guards and seat cover and all that stuff. And i think 63K is a reasonable one for that ride.

63K seems to be a decent price. Try different dealers and get their quotes.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the posts and inputs,

I want to know whether the following rumors about the unicorn are true

1. The mono suspension sinking after some time and loosing its action

2. The engine purity and sound increasing after 6 months of continuous use.

Thanks

Unicorn is the Best Bike, I own it from past 3yrs as smooth when bought.
Awesome road grip, breaking, fuel efficiency, handling, Better initials, Mid range and top compared to all other 150cc bikes.

the mono shock is one of the toughest shocks they will not become hard rather you might have the need to change the front shocks and oil before you think of the mono. also if you change the handle then expect the front spring/shocks change way sooner!

now we all know its a 150cc engine and the DUMB heads at honda use 20w40 oil at the service centers which is what makes the engine rough and bad very early and they recommend the oil change at 5000kms which is really bad for the bike if maintained properly with oil changes at every 2500 with 20w50 grade or better synthetic oils then you will never have the problem of the engine becoming rough!

well you see after about 15K kms the engine might sound marginally rough as the bike is old enough ti sound so! and is very normal but on comparision to other bikes in the market any day it will sound smooth!

What is the specified grade of oil for the Honda Unicorn? Is it 20W40 or 20W50?

Thanks praJEEP.

@rider60: If the recommended grade of oil for the Unicorn is 20W40 then why do you refer to the service guys as "dumb heads"?
