Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

@Jingaboysr

you can retrofit the battery compartment. The 9Amps battery is slightly bigger and the casing is now available readily in most of the shops. The electrical changes could take a couple of hours. I personally would advice you to get the 9 Amps.

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

Guys, need some help.

What will be the life of a 5v battery in Bullet Electra which serves only for horn and other electrical as i dont have self start.

I bought a new Amaron 5v battery for my Electra 6 months back, Now it is almost dead. But still i have the warranty for it, Planning to get it checked in Amron service center. before that i need some light on what will be the actual life of a battery in bullet.

Or should i had taken a 12v instead of 5v ?

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

@ bulzire.
it depends on the what electricals you running on.
Bullet is equipped with 6V electricals and 12V electricals.
I have never heard of 5V electricals.

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

@Bulzire-What you mean is 12v 5amp and yes if its not ES then thats what new RE bikes with no ES are coming with. If you are running non OEM or double horns then you will always have a shorter battery life.

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

hi
my previous post was not approved.. however since iam a battery manufacturer i think i may be able to suggest quite a few things

KINDLY NOTE THAT IAM NOT TRYING TO SELL ANYTHING AS I DONT MANUFACTURE OR DEAL IN THESE KIND OF BATTERIES

1. all type of batteries be it a inverter battery or a splendor battery gives 2.5 vol.. its always the amp (Ah) which differs..

2. calculating ah is quite difficult.. its a formula depending on the number of plates and weight of each plate in a battery

3. i have 2 electric start RE elctra .. both that battries have been replaced.. foe one bike through my sources i managed to get a 12vt 14ah exide bacher battery.. NOTE THIS BATTERY IS NO LONGER GETTING MANUFACTURED BY EXIDE OR IS AVAILABLE IN MARKET SO DONT WASTE UR TIME.

4. fro my other bike i doubles the plates on a 9amp battery to produce a 13=14 amp battery however the maintenance is high as space inside battery becomes small and water keeps evaporating and life span is also not that good either 2yrs max..... however positve point is it costs only rs 500

if u want one go to mori gate new delhi go to any battery shop and ask for a 7 plate 9amp battery.. u can double check by weighing it it sould be about 3 kg...

5. if that is not an option the go for trontek imported battery .. these come with and without label the cost for a labled one is 200 rs more however it can avoided as there is no difference between the two.. it should cost no more than rs 1100... and can be bought at mori gate....

6. check ebay there are some imported batteries listed over there.

i hope this helped..
KINDLY NOTE THAT I CANNOT PROVIDE ANY KIND OF BATTERY TO ANYONE ...

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra

Exide or Amaron, which one do you guys prefer? (price being least decisive factor)

Exide MF battery, comes with max 2 yr warranty.
Amaron SMF battery, comes with 2+2 yr warranty.
(at a price difference of ~ 200rs)

Presently dying Exide just crossed 4 yrs. Its been properly cared for & since the entire ES was junked, battery was having an easy life not having to face the starter moron.

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

Just going through this thread to decide the Battery config to choose for my 2006 Bullet Electra 5S Electric Start model.

No answer on this thread is clear as to what to be bought for this bike.

Kindly provide a clear answer as to the Voltage and AH ratings.

Thanks

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

Went ahead and fitted a Exide 12V 14 AH.

Got it for Rs.2400 at "Battery Shoppee" - Jayanagar 5th Block Bangalore.

18 months warranty

Electric Start works well now.

Re: Battery for Bullet Electra with self start

A quick question. Can the Exide backer battery be mounted on its side? Reason being my bike (hyosung gv250) requires a battery with that rating, but can't accomodate the exide backer battery regularly, but can accomodate it sideways.

Are there issues with leakage or any other issues I should be aware of before considering it?

This Pro bike battery is a total failure in Bullet motorcycle..with or without self start.I replaced it in my Bullet w/o self start and with no fog lamps or any other extra load, even without these it gets drained totally. The dealer in our area has stopped keeping it in his shop.In just one year time I replaced it twice under warranty. Now the dealer says he cannot give me the replacement anymore. In our Bullet group no one is saying good about this product. All wants regular battery.

yup, looking at the problems we face with the battery, in the BULLET specifically, even i have stopped selling the same to any bullet guys coming through to my Pitstop, the Bullet, jus cant take the technology in the battery (VRLA), in its stride, so divorce time.
