R15 to US? or even R1 from India are you crazy?

You can buy a brand new 09 R1 for about 13k here after tax etc.
In India you would first pay double 22k and then export to get it here. Duh!!

Import it only if you want to be the butt of all jokes when people see you riding it on the streets!

I am assuming you have mistaken a R15 to be a 1500cc. But even with that assumption, how could you think a 1.5L bike be a bargain in India than in the US? Neverthless, just go ahead with the rest of your options and drop your ideas to import a R15 to US.

You know, I think you should actually consider importing a Hero Honda CD 100 SS. Start on that and you can easily upgrade to an R1 later.

Like others mentioned, it was indeed a good laugh.

R1 would retail at 11K in the US, you could may be look at a R6, as I get that you not an AVID biker and have no idea about the PLACE that you are in.

It is one of the heavens for AUTO enthusiasts.

This in my opinion is a good VFM option

Hmm nice alternatives to R15 you got there. Hayabusa., R1 etc.,
But you are looking at alternatives in only one direction. go in the other direction, and you can import a Luna. No shipping problem also, pack it in your suitcase
